Well ... my only comment is this: This assault on Christianity has been going on for thousands of years.

You are right - the founding fathers did recognize GOD as the Almighty Supreme Being; but if you have ever read the report by Rush Limbaugh's father about the founding fathers, you know all of these men were persecuted beyond belief for their commitment to the United States of America.

For those who might be interested. From the original group who met and discussed the contents of the 1st draft of the constitution...about 25 percent of these folks did not return to represent their state and sign the final draft. There are a lot of folks in colonial America, 1776....who had concerns about mixing politics and government. The British government had demonstrated a major problem in handling affairs, and they did not want to repeat that mistake.
