Without having read his full opinion, I would essentially agree,
although I'm yet a little uneasy over the emphasis on minorities and his nibbling around the edges of the "poverty causes crime" bit.

That's not what he said. He said that lack of education leads to both.

I didn't read it that way, I read it as more of a slap in the face of the left. He's essentially throwing their B.S. right back at them when he says "...If society cannot end racial discrimination, at least it can arm minorities with the education to defend themselves from some of discrimination’s effects" ..In other words he's telling the left to put up or shut up.
