A lot is going on here, people protecting their jobs by not criticizing the USFS or federal-cannot-be-fired Kim Martin who I suspect was bowing to the pressure of environmentalists. Or if the homes burned, are they on private land of federal forest land; if the latter, I doubt seriously those owners will be allowed to rebuild.

Turf wars are the most common problem among all federal workers: "Don’t Rock The Boat no matter what!" is the optimum phrase and 'play the game if you want to keep your job.'

I think this is a made for Bill O’Reilly investigation, have mailed him the story. He should start with Sarah Foster, one of World Net Daily’s star investigative reporters. Sarah is no stranger to federal/political screw-ups. Steven Frye just used the ‘cover my a**’ rhetoric, that was to be expected.

However people like Ron Largent, Bill Newman, Tolhurst, Police Chief Gary Hamilton and all the other support groups who answered the call to help their country, should be given a medal for their quick actions. Isn’t it amazing how non-federal citizens in this country can and do get the job at hand done with little or no delay. Refusing their help should send all back to a desk somewhere where they have no further jurisdiction to muddle up what would have been a job well done even down to the agreement that damage to the forest floor would be repaired...for FREE.

Now whose Ox got gored here? Answer: all home owners in the path of this horrific fire...not the environmentalists who are 95% to blame for all the fires this summer and those of the past 12 years for stupid short sightedness and their imbecility towards nature...something they know little about! Klamath Falls and The Elko Nevada fiasco along with countless people being thrown out of work be it ranching, farming or just plain camping on what use to be land belonging to the American People. Now the United Nations along with hundreds of EPA agencies and the federal government control most of it. We’re back to King George.................

Let's get a handle on some personal responsibility here, some LESS DEPENDENCE ON GOVERNMENT, shall we? Klamath farmers took a risk when they or their forbears chose to farm in a desert, some of them leasing the land at that. PERIOD. Likewise, people who choose to live in suburbs in western mountains know (or should know) that they are taking a big risk, especially in time of major drought. Don't get me wrong. I have a family member AT THIS VERY MINUTE who has had to evacuate her home in Arizona.

I have said that the blame game, especially the political game, won't work in this situation, and I firmly believe that those who are using it for political ends are not only misguided, but are people who are behaving horribly. Think about it. It is just terrible, like a bloodfest by people who have little or nothing to do with real tragedy. Christian? My A$$ !!

You professed "conservatives," those people on this website who use some kind of cult religion to further your political ends, will ultimately realize that this country and its constitution will not tolerate the jihad of a religion OR of a political party. We have checks and balances in our history and in our constitution to deal with just such an historically repetitive situation. And I say that as I know in my deepest recesses that the greatest tragedy of all is not what your "religion" has done regarding politics, but what the practice of politics has done to your religion. You can thank Ronald Reagan, the actor, for that, and you can thank charlatans like Rush Limbaugh--who has built an entire and very lucrative career by dividing people--for capitalizing on that cause. "US versus THEM." You know it, but did you ever even think about it or why it was happening? Did you not notice the allure of the media, and of politics, in its bent toward FEAR? The fire? The war? The panic, just before the advertisements? "THEY are out to get US!" Understand? On both extreme sides of any political fence. But most people in this country don't subscribe to political websites, and most people are pretty wise, and the wisest of all are those who see this "culture war" as the completely orchestrated, money grabbing fear tactic scam that it is.
