That's a Troxler nuclear density device. It has a pea-sized grain of Cesium 137 and would probably screw you up only if you swallowed it. I'm confident that a thief, not a terrorist stole it.

Hey - I'm chilled :)

There's more radioactivity here in the town I live in than could be put in any van.

Never mentioned terrorists in my portion of the post - just that it was worrisome. I know that small sources like this - as well as much larger sources - get left in vehicles -vans, open truck beds and the like - secured only with a chain and a padlock, if that much.

While it's a small source - it's still a concern.
