The Case of the Freeper FRiva Feva
As a way of raising the visibility of the FreeRepublic Network's FRiva Las Vegas Conference to be held on August 17th and 18th, we're starting a contest that will see one lucky Freeper win the registration fees to attend all events. If you've already paid your fees, you should still play. You may get a nice refund. This contest will see a new series of clues and searches to find the final target each day. Threads will go up in the evenings between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. p.d.t. There will be an informational post which will include the first clue. That clue will hint you toward another post. That post will contain another clue that will hint you toward the next. There will be three to five total clues each day leading you to the final target post. Once at the final target post, you'll be requested to contact the poster of that post via FreepMail. You'll have to provide information in that post.
These clues will be posted on pre-existing threads. You'll have to look in that thread to find the clue or daily final target.
Each clue will have a code number beside it. Write them down carefully as you pass by each of them. At the final target post, you'll need to enter all codes in the email so that we can verify that you made your way successfully through the series of clues. If you do not enter that data, we'll have to assign you the maximum finishing time for that day. If you transcribe the codes incorrectly, we will have to give you the maximum time, so be careful. We have to run this fairly, so we can't make exceptions for our buds. Are you listening JimRob? Heh heh heh.
We will be recording the finishing positions of all players each day. The first twenty players will earn the points of their position. Those who finish beyond 20 will receive 21 points for their performance for that day. We are limiting the points for one day so that nobody will be completely eliminated until they've bombed out a few times. At the end of the last day, the participant with the lowest overall finishing points will win one person's total registration fees for the conference.
If you cannot participate for one day, please post your desire to have a 21 entered for your score on that day in the initial Clue thread for that day. Or you can specify in another day's first clue thread, that you will be gone on a certain day and you will be logged for that day at 21.
This contest will end on the evening of July 2nd. At the resolution of the final day's clues, the finishing times for the contest will be totaled. The winner will be announced the next day and we will post the ten finishers with the lowest cumulative scores.
We will post the top positions each day as the contest takes place.

We're going to run it as fairly as possible, and all decisions regarding the operation of the contest or the winners will be judged by members of the FreeRepublic Network Conference Sub-Committee. Their decisions will be final.
