Yes. I understand and accept that it is a physical impossibility for any president to achieve 100% party (or ideology) platform perfection, especially when their party is not in total control of Congress. Sometimes you have to give a little, sometimes you have to think strategically months ahead of time and play tactically on-the-fly. (Example: I don't care about the steel tariff thing if it ends up helping us win races in certain states that give us control of the Senate. The ends justify the means.)
And yes, believe it or not, sometimes two intelligent people can disagree about whether a particular policy conforms to conservative principles.
