Dear FBI
How are you? Fine I hope. About why I am writing you, I just read that you are going to be checking up on what we read at libraries. I wanted to let you know about a few of those books I checked out.
First, I did not know that "Edna the Whip Lady" was a naughty book. I thought it was a book about leather manufacturing.
Second, "Making Women's Lingerie in Male Sizes" was one that I just checked out for a rather large female friend of mine. If you cross reference Wal Mart's fabric department records, you should be aware that I bought all that lace and silk for her, too.
Third, that book on "Growing Hemp Products For Fun and Profit", well frankly, I forget just what I thought that was.
Very truly yours,
parsy.

LOL! I haven't checked out a book at the library since they started charging for parking there! Their loss. Web sites now get my reading business!

FBI Begins Visiting Libraries A literate agent is a better agent!

The FBI is visiting libraries nationwide and checking the reading records of people it suspects of having ties to terrorists or plotting an attack,
How about the FBI checking out the library records of the White Supremecists who supposedly 'helped' Tim McVeigh plan and execute the ... (-er- that's about *two* generations behind the *current* conspiracy theory)
Will they be checking Padillo's (infamous and 'supposed' Johnny Doe #2) library record now?

Just imagine what is going to happen to the guy who checks out "The Anarchist's Cookbook".
And yes, it is/was in my local community library. I didn't check it out, I bought one for my own little library.

wake up sheeple
they will do ANYTHING EXCEPT close the borders, throw out foriegners, block visas
they will take YOUR rights, "for safety", but will not do the very thing that would ensure safety for all, because by so doing there would be little excuse to take away rights.
who needs conspiracy theories when the truth is self evident?
would you leave your doors and windows open at night and then be surprised when you are attacked? would your solution be to let everyone in, but just check up on them as they roam around your house?
this is absurd. that there is another agenda here is evidenced by the preposterous nature of their actions and inaction.
"ye shall know the tree by the fruit it bears"
this is the law of identity.
the identity of a thing is determined by its behavior, not its appearance.

Want to tell me what is so wrong with asking about the intelligence level of the FEEbers? They have flubbed several important things the past few years. And there was an honest question in there. Like, how long till they start looking into Video Rental stores and checking Metro cards too. (Supposedly, the hijackers did visit strip clubs and videpo stores on Sep 10th. Supposedly.)
Got a thin skin?

Aside from the 4th-amendment concerns about having access to libraries' records, what about the 1st-amendment violation, where librarians can be prosecuted for telling people what the FBI's up to with them? What's up with that?

I think the purpose here is to monitor the PC access to browser based email, a service that is offered for free by the libraries and could be used by jihadis to send/recieve email and browse websites. More so than books, i think.

Wouldnt it be easier, and less infringement on our liberties, to just deport the illegals, and stop immigration?
