Dad got hooked on the Orient as a pilot for China National Airlines Company, which was owned by American Airlines. He was a civilian pilot in the China-Burma-India Campaign, flying C-46's over the Hump. He later worked for the State Dept/Dept of the Army in Japan in the 1950's where I grew up as an Army Brat. He had lots of friends who remained behind in China after 1949. In the 1960's before his death, he predicted the Chinese would throw off Communism because they were traders and businessmen by nature. I think his prediction will eventually come true...

It's said that the Chinese are prosperous everywhere but in China. The same is said about the Jews and Israel. Capitalism abroad and socialism at home creates such a situation.

China has already abandoned communism the ruling party is communist in name only Deng Xiaoping after defeating the gang of four executed or exiled most of the communist hardliners.
