The problem is, newspapers make no money on the net

Exactly, that's why they'll go out of business. Given the choice of paying 50 cents for a paper or getting the news for free on the internet the free market will win out.

In 2-3 years there will be amazing softwre available that will consolidate the news of interest to you and you will bring up the page and get your news even more efficiently than we now do on the net.

Or online news services will start charging to view their sites. I am amazed (happily) that you can get the same news free on the internet that they are charging for in hardcopy
