Here's the new thread, all ready for Thursday.

Testimony recently discussed includes fingerprint evidence, as well as Westerfield's clean laundry. The Van Dam home was (strangely) devoid of fingerprints, except for a couple of latents that didn't match any of the pizza party people or, apparently, David Westerfield.

Westerfield's motorhome didn't contain any of his fingerprints, but did have one print from Danielle L. (the daughter of Westerfield's ex-girlfriend), Jennifer (a friend of Danielle L.), and a partial from Danielle Van Dam.

The prosecution said yesterday that they would be finished "in seven court days".

I think the Prosecution is overplaying it's hand...and the Jury is patiently waiting for the slam-dunk...which may not ever happen.

jacket appear to be like a flight jacket...waist length..quilted interior.....lapel stain cannot be seen when button flap is closed.

Has anyone testified to seeing DW wear this jacket? I know several witnesses were asked what he was wearing at different times but I've missed a lot of testimony.

Lab techs have 35mm camera in office--even though 35mm camera is more precise and negatives can be enlarged for better viewing of evidence, they used a Polaroid instead.

I can't figure out where he's going.

I agree that the Prosecution is overplaying its hand. I think they feel a need to make things appear bigger than they are to compensate for the holes, rapid elimination of other suspects, etc. I think it also fairly transparent.

As I said.....I wouldn't appreciate any games if I were a juror. This defendant is on trial for his life. Don't attempt to include everything but the kitchen sink. Either show me the valid, potentially guilty elements or risk my looking at your entire presentation with a jaundiced eye.

VAN DAM'S FRIEND Barbara Easton SPEAKS OUT

Barbara Easton probably never thought her social life would be so publicly aired, but several times during Brenda and Damon van Dam's testimony in the David Westerfield preliminary hearing, her activities the night Danielle van Dam vanished were revealed by her friends.

Brenda van Dam testified she smoked pot with her and Damon van Dam said she crawled into bed with him.

"Barbara layed next to me. I rolled over, put my arm around her, kissed her, rubbed her back some," said Damon van Dam.

Easton, 46, is a friend of Brenda and Damon van Dam's, who met Drenda at Dad's Steakhouse and Cafe in Poway about a year ago, according to Brenda.

Easton is a licensed salesperson in the mortgage brokerage field, who was with Brenda van Dam the night Danielle van Dam was last seen alive.

According to Brenda van Dam's testimony, Easton and Denise Kemel, another friend of Brenda's, consumed alcohol and smoked pot inside the Van Dam's garage before heading to the local bar for a girls night out.

Under cross examination, Brenda van Dam was asked about sexually suggestive dancing moves allegedly performed on her by Easton on the dance floor at Dad's.

"She did not touch me. I don't know how to explain it. She didn't physically touch me. She was maybe dancing with her hands like this, but she didn't touch me," says Brenda van Dam.

Easton told LOCAL 8 news by phone that the Van Dam's are the victims here and that she fully stands behind them. She would not give any specifics of the case because she says she is under a court imposed gag order.

Although Easton never took the stand in the Westerfield case, her interview with a San Diego Police Detective is part of the court documents introduced at the preliminary hearing.

As far as Westerfield's case is concerned, Easton says that it's too bad he didn't have to take the stand.

Does anyone have an idea of what the prosecution will say caused blood to be shed? There is no apparent evidence of a cutting type of injury, but I realize that the decomposition may have hindered that accuracy.

A scratch or small cut does not bleed a whole lot. I'm guessing that it takes more than a drop from the victim to get on the perp???????

The medium boxers were washed with DW's stuff...trying to show hair transfered, I guess.

7 stains on the bean bag chair tested presumptively positive for blood....blood on her blanket (side closest to her body, not the side facing up....of the 3 stains on the stairs...1 was tested and shown not to be human
