My Dad is still in the Neurotrama unit.
They have removed all of the things used in order to help him breath. He is now breathing on his own.
They were keeping him sedated and out cold 24 hours a day but they have stopped that and he has been able to open his eyes and speak with my Mother.
He is still not completely cognizant of his surroundings and why he is there. My Mother as well as others have explained to him a couple of times in succinct, simple terms what has happened and where he is but he gets confused at times.
He is very combative towards the Nurses. I cannot tell if this is a result of being an old Man or if it is because he has been unable to consume any alcohol and his body is agitating him. Eitherway, he has displayed a little fire, so that cant be all bad.
My Mother and Aunt both witnessed him lift his legs. At the time they were both very encouraged by this considering the doom and gloom regurgitations of the Hospital Staff that he would be paralyzed. The Doctors have since explained that they believe the movements were simple spasms or the like and that they dont believe it is of any consequence.
I find this difficult to accept considering that they have yet to go in and remove the bullet from near his spinal cord and because I know his post operative condition and whether or not he walks again is not their decision to make...That belongs to Jesus.
Anyway...
I thank all of you and continue to ask for your faith filled Prayers concerning my Fathers condition as well as for my Mothers blood pressure & state of mind.
I covet your continued prayers.
