Tell them Tony Blair called, he wants the U.S. back.
(He says we have till thursday to move out or he's gonna dump our stuff by the curb.)
Besides, if we HAD infiltrated al Qaeda, would you expect the intelligence agencies to admit it?
But then, that is only my opinion.
Then again, that's just you thinking. We all know what a defective process that is. Try not to hurt yourself.
100%? That's a pretty strong statement there. So you're saying no one on this website should say anything the slightest bit critical of the way President Bush is handling the War on Terrorism?
Not gonna happen. The US gooberment won't even let you denouce your US citizenship anymore. Marc Rich tried this, and they wouldn't let him. The reason for this is the gooberment doesn't want people to claim other citizenship so they don't have to pay US taxes. That was the whole thing behind Bubba-1's pardon of Rich. He had been living in Switzerland as a Swiss citizen, and owed millions in US taxes.
Your entire premise is specious to say the least, most notably the idea that a terrorist attack is statistically insignificant.Yeah, well, the Soviets weren't likely to go first strike, but that didn't make arming against them a dumb idea, did it? Based on your logic, no need for Missile Defense, either....
If we are a member of a group that the congress authorizes the president to use military force against- then yes, we could be detained as military combatants by the US military. If we are American citizens, then we have a right to habeous corpus proceedings.
And if we are members of the group congress authorized military force against, the courts will agree that we are appropriately treated as military detainees.
What is wrong with that?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Have you ever heard of the "war on drugs". Isn't it authorized by Congress? Hasn't Congress authorized the use of the military in this war? If you can't see what's wrong with our government arbitrarily labeling American citizens as combatants and thus strip them of their "God given rights" then you scare me. How do we know this man did anything? We don't! What recourse does an innocent man in Padilla's shoes have? None he just sits in jail for an indefinite length of time. That's just not what America is supposed to be.
How long until we have another corrupt Bubba in the White House, who we all know loved his political enemies. This power that we are bestowing on our rulers will come back to bite every one of us in the ass. Count on it.
Exactly..
And the Nazi's didn't give France back to he French.. And we didn't give France back to the Nazi's.
They lost the land.. I have no idea where this term "occoupation" comes from.
They make it sound like the Jews just showed up and took over out of the clear blue sky. It's everywhere.. All over the news, it's been repeated so frequently that it's accepted as fact.
And never once do I hear someone say: "Well, you know they would have had their palsetinian state in the partition plan of '48 if they would have just been cool.."
Is there something I am missing here? Cause from where I sit it looks like they lost that land fair-0and-square.
And even if any of that is in doubt, what is not in doubt is that he was learning to build bombs in Afghanistan. There's really no non-malicious reason to do that.
And we come full circle. Why are they allowed to keep hanging around here? If they don't support us when we're at war, what do you think they did before and will do after?
The threat to liberty and freedom comes from Washington not Afghanistan. It's not Osama that denies an American citizen due process in this country. It's not the Taliban that allows law enforcement to break in and search your house and papers without a search warrant with no prior evidence of criminal activity. It's not Saddam that requires you to jump through hoops and do flips in order to own a firearm for self defense.
This is not a statement about how we should keep a watchful eye on our government. This is unfounded leftist spin that our government is worse than the terrorists. sandmanbr confirmed it here:
And if Bush violates the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution he is more dangerous to our liberty than Osama.

Regardless of whether or not you support the passage of 245(i), it only grants people amnesty from deportation while they apply for papers granting them legal status in the USA. It does not grant them citizenship, and President Bush has never made such a request.
-------------------------------
Hmmm, 'they can't be deported while a getting legal status', sounds almost like getting citizenship to me, ------ and not at all like reaganesque, cheap suit, 'propoganda'.
But then, I don't have any reasons to be defending a political regime, either.
Yes, he is.
THERE IS NO COMPARING GOING ON! Why the HELL do so many of you have trouble understanding this? Bin Laden and the other terrorists do NOT have the ability to write US law,nor can they vote on bills in the US congress and Senate. They are not going to write and pass gun laws. They are not going to raise your taxes. They are not going to make Islam the official religion of the US. They are not going to sign things like the Koyoto treaty in our name. ALL they can do is attack us,and they can be killed on sight. Try this with a congressman or Senator, and you are in BIG-TIME trouble!
