The Forgotten Holocaust is a good read. It deals not with the 7 million murdered earlier in the Ukraine but the millions of Polish Christians who were killed or shipped to Soviet concentration camps between 1939-40 and 1945-1953.

Of course, it must be stated categorically ,that Mr Irving himself, had absolutely nothing, nothing at all, to do with the tragedy of civilian murder in WW2. The triumph of political correctness is that the man is being ground down because he is stating something that powerful people, do not like to hear.

This man's research and conclusions even if totally and completely wrong, do not mitigate one iota, the tragedy of one single human life, nor does it increase the horror of what happened to them at the time.

The judge did a noble job. Waiting for him ,if he found for the plaintiff Irving, would be , in the words of the late comedian, Lenny Bruce- " the hot lead enema"- yep, to the Tower with the old Cadi and over he goes. The cynic in me says these Holocaust denial people are Morris Dees-type creations. Good for fund raising and a way to stop certain unpleasant facts about the activities in the Soviet Block from being taken seriously. Follow the PC line on 20th century history or be lumped in with Holocaust denial nutcases.

But I don't listen to my cynical side. I'll accept that these crazies are for real. But they sure come in handy.

This has be re-posted. You are no doubt aware. Just in case though, there is some spirited "discussion" - even more so than on this one. My take on it is this, persons are talking about disgrace, shunning, by "decent" people of Irving. I would hope that these persons realise, that their rhetoric could also be referred to horrendous sexual deviates- I wonder if it does.(about such types) This, as far as I know, what Irving is not. Orwell would have flayed some of them, I am sure. Still, I will defend their right to villify Irving.A little hysteria in their views, I find. Right or wrong, I will not say.

I don't blame everyone for anything. I simply get sick of double standards which liberal Jews hide behind when some of them attack everyone from Germans to Norwegians to French to Poles to Americans. How many "debates" on the Catholic Church's involvement in the Holocaust does the Simon Wiesenthal Center have to hold? Why not have one debate on the religious makeup of the Polish militia which put 1.5 million Polish (mainly Catholics) into cattle cars between 1939 and 1940 and shipped them to concentration camps in Siberia? I'm content to let history be history. But if the left is going to use Nazi Germany as a political weapon to slander conservatives, I don't see why events in the Ukraine, in Hungary, in Poland and in the Baltic states should not be thrown back in their face. If the left is going to prattle on about how America harbored Nazi war criminals, what is the problem with pointing out that Israel harbors Nachman Dushanski and Solomon Morel?

I do not believe in collective guilt or guilt being passed down though generations. The left does however and the only way to fight it is to point out what they did.

Well Spar, it looks like BNP leader Nick Griffin's anti-Semitist guru David Irving has finally got his just deserts. You know the BNP and NF hang on this man's every word. Griffin also published articles denying the Holocaust, based upon Irving's research.

There were 9 million Jews in Europe in the 1930's. 5.9 million died in the Holocaust.
About 5 million Gypsies, Poles and political prisoners were also killed. Million of civilians on the eastern front were killed both by the Nazis and Soviets.

Teh crimes of the communists before, during and after World War 2 are rarely commented on and never punished.
However, your defese on Irving is not justified by the facts. He willfully lied, was called on it and then sued those who called him on his lies for libel. He lost and has to pay.
