This is AWFULLY fishy.
Smells like the girl ran away and the 9 year old sister is covering for her, or something similarly odd.

I'm glad you said it first. Something isn't quite right here. There's no reason to continue cooperating once the man with the gun leaves.

My thoughts as well....if little sis is covering for her sibling, she better come clean ASAP as serious resources are being mobilized.

prayers lifted up for safe return of this young girl.
And if someone did kidnap her, I want to be the first in line to skin the bastard alive when he's arrested.

Agreed. A much younger child can often be successfully frightened into "not telling", but not a normal 9 year old.
To: John H K
If this was a young couple eloping or running away by mutual consent to start a life together, "staging" a kidnapping would guarantee they'd have more attention from law enforcement than they would probably want.
If there had been a lot of shouting matches between daughter and parents prior to this disappearance, kurfew violations and the like, then it may be a lovers' pact. I would rather it be a setup, as the other scenario is too horrible to contemplate.

A 9 y/o child is developmentally unable to sit with this type of critical information without revealing it to someone right away. Fishy is right.

If the girl was waiting to run away with a boyfriend or computer pervert, she wouldn't be sitting around in pajamas. She'd be all dressed up with her cosmetic bag ready to go.
But I agree this doesn't pass the smell test. I'd like to know more about her relationship with her parents and THEIR connections before I'd take a flyer at guessing what happened.

Oh yes, young children are terribly frightened by this type of abduction/molestation, and do keep their mouths shut, in hopes of keeping their sibling from being hurt.
This is typical behaviour among this crime group; that 9 year old sister is beside herself, you can bet the farm on it! Just talk to experts in this field.

You came
remarkably close with this early assessment ...
