Rush stepped on it vis a vis the Globaloney Story in the Times. When he's right, he's right, re;CFR. When he's wrong, like today, he should apologise. That's a legitimate argument. But it doesn't change the fact that people around here are directing vitriol at the person who's been the voice of conservatism for over 10 years now. I mean, come ON! I suspect Laura Bush herself would get demonized by some if she disagreed with her husband.

I'm wondering the same thing; sort of like the lady FBI's letter to the head of the FBI, and,of course, the NYT. If she was SO concerned, why wait until MAY to write it; why not write it 9-11!
Something is going on.
BTW, no need to read the other posts. They're all just like these. :-)

I disagree. Rush is trying to make himself look like a conservative again.Nope, Rush is becoming a libertarian.
To: habs4ever
Plus, he isn't going to give you a briefing, now is he ? Then how do you know what he's doing?
I do know that Bush has proven to be a big-government socialist and a LIAR!

"Did anyone see the NBC Nightly News tonight? They played the "George W. Al Gore" clip from Limbaugh's show today."Doesn't that send red flags to anyone?????????? The only, ONLY reason the main stream media would report from a conservative sources is because the conservatives once again are munching on their own. I can hear it, 'Look, even the 'conservatives' are against Bush'. This is scary. I've been saying it all along, we will not get the senate because we fight amongst ourselves. United we stand, divided we fall. The supreme court is ours, only if we work together. Think about it the alternative. More Bader-Gingsburgs, more Kennedys.

Because you say Rush has been "the" voice for conservatism for 10 years, do you think we should stick with him, right or wrong?

See 784, its my honest opinion of where Rush is heading.

I can't find a date on the actual report, but from what I understand, it has been out for a while. Freepers, please correct me if I'm wrong and please post the date. Saber, the report isn't anything different than what the President said in June 2001. Those remarks were also posted on this thread by deport (post 647).

You're getting it this year too, and more.

I don't know what's going on with Rush but he obviously didn't do his research before going with this one... I blame Matt Drudge equally for always sensationalizing to the point where he isn't accurately reporting stories...
My husband gave up on Rush years ago and he lost me today.
To: marajade
The bottom line is: you lied. Once someone lies they lose all sense of credibility. Bush promised less spending and smaller government. Go figure.
To: marajade
If they don't get rid of all of it, it will up with something that end up so more money will flow into politics than before...
Sounds like freedom to me, but it won't come from CFR.
It's a myth that there's too much money in politics. We spend more on soda advertising annually than we do on federal elections in a Presidential year.
Here's what a 1st Ammendment friendly campaign law would look like:
Unlimited contributions, immediate public disclosure, no foreign money.
Scary, huh?
To: BillofRights
As I said before, take it up with your fellow citizens. They like it.
Please cut out the baiting, Bill.
To: marajade
Here's my problem with Rush. I want to root for somebody once in a while, not just against somebody or something.
I'm rooting for my Commander in Chief and I think he is doing a damn fine job of his primary duty as POTUS.
I have "issues" on some of the homefront things but they are secondary in my mind to the job at hand.
To: Sabertooth
CFR isn't that big of deal for me. I still voted for McCain as Senator knowing it was his issue two years ago. McCain has gone half baked lately and it is now to the point I can't vote for him in 2004 because of stance on health care reform, gun show loop holes, etc. Even though I loathe the LP, I might just have to vote LP against McCain in 2004.
To: Howlin
Because you say Rush has been "the" voice for conservatism for 10 years, do you think we should stick with him, right or wrong? I think there's room for civil disagreement. But that isn't what happened here - the man's been demonized because he disagrees with Pres. Bush. Put another way, I think you're a proponent of looking at the big picture - at least when it concerns Pres. Bush's actions. Are you now unwilling to do the same when the focal point is Rush?
Incidentally, do you think there is anyone who's been a larger voice for conservatism than Rush? I mean it as an honest question.
To: rintense; Howlin
Here's what concerns me...
If this is an new draft of an old report and it was released to the UN last week, why didn't our side take the initiative with the media?
Why was it possible for us to be blindsided last night?
