Any number of writers have been making this point over the last several days. Alas, they have all been Conservative writers, so there is an element of preaching to the choir here.

On the other hand, the DemonCRAP backing and filling seems to indicate that a number of them are seriously sorry they ever brought up the subject.

The good news is that there is a strong possibility that racial profiling of the type that has been strongly denounced, i.e. Muslim men between the ages of 20 and 40 WILL become acceptable.

I regret the inconvenience this is going to cause to law-abiding and patriotic Americans of middle-east decent, but I hope for and expect their understanding.

This silliness of deep-searching 80-year-old grannies and other obviously innocent children needs to be stopped and the focus put where it belongs -- on the acknowledged threat.

Ann Coulter expresses my opinion much better than I can-unfortunately of late though, she doesn't seem to be allowed much more air time and ink than I am. Truth has a helluva time breaking through the scum of politically correct that has formed a crust on top of the pond.

I've been saying this for days now. The left won't let us do what needs to be done: I will repeat myself:

As usual, I often find myself wanting to ask the left "what, exactly, would you do / have done?" Their usual answers involve platitudes, along the lines of "we must seek to understand blah blah".

Even after 9/11, God forbid we should profile suspicious-looking characters getting on airplanes, or detain suspected terrorists, or identify illegal immigrants - never mind trying to do so last August.

My fervent hope is there are enough Americans that see through all this. Seems that the cornered DemocRats are getting desparate, so maybe the fall elections will run them out of the house.

Brilliant point. Political correctness would not have allowed stepped-up security measures before 9/11, even with bells ringing and whistles screeching about an impending attack. Even now, with 3,000 people dead, the World Trade Center obliterated, the Pentagon damaged, and further threats being received almost daily, we're still debating whether we can "profile" Middle Easterners or Muslims as potential security risks. What a country!
