Suicide bomber kills 3 Israelis; 40 others wounded

RISHON LETZION, Israel (CNN) --A suicide bomber Wednesday blew himself up in a crowded pedestrian mall in Rishon Letzion, Israel, killing three Israelis and wounding at least 40 others.

The terror attack marked the second time in two weeks a suicide bombing directed at civilians has hit the town, which is located about 15 miles southeast of Tel Aviv.

1. Yasser's not in control -- but then, we all knew that.

2. The PFLP will probably claim responsibility

3. The PFLP will lose another commander soon

4. The Dead Men Walking list will probably shrink by a few.

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Four people were killed, including a suicide bomber in Rishon Letzion, south of Tel Aviv on Wednesday, the Cable News Network reported.

Gideon Meir, an Israeli official, told CNN that once again a Palestinian terrorist had attacked innocent Israeli civilians. He said "Israel will not give in to terror."

Four Dead/Israeli Blast -2: Bombing In Open Area -Witness

City official David Elimelech told Israel TV that the place where the bomber struck was an open area with a thin roof, where people gathered to play cards. He said 12 to 15 people were there. "It's a miracle that it was in an open place," he said, according to the Associated Press.

On May 7, a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up at a pool hall in the same city, killing 15 Israelis and himself.

I don't understand their strategy.

I begin to doubt they have any strategy whatsoever. To be in control of the whole of the West Bank - and to withdraw! To be ready and in starting position for overtaking Gaza - and to withdraw! It's not like Sharon at all, at least not like general Sharon.

Looks like the political and, more important, economic pressure on the Israeli government are enormous.

My take on Yassin is that the Israeli have had him in their hands, but do not act against him. There must be a reason. I am beginning to wonder if moving into Gaza isn't too tough.

Actually sharon has divided Gaza through the middle, and the IDf can move in relatively quickly, compared to previous episodes.
