George Lucas, sometimes accused of reinforcing racial stereotypes with his movies, has done it again according to critics.

Latino critics in particular charge his latest Star Wars epic toys with American paranoia about Mexican immigration with its cloned army of swarthy lookalikes who march lockstep by the tens of thousands, and ultimately end up serving as Darth Vaders white suited warriors.

Good movie, saw it last night-dont miss the last 30 minutes.

I think George Lucas is lifting his sequel's histories on the last days of the Roman Empire..

You know, of all the stereotypes that are actual in the movie, like the alien with the pseudo-italian new york accent, and the almond eyed aliens that have obviously stereotypical traits, you'd think they could have found an actual point to piss and moan about. Any comparison between Jango and Mexicans never crossed my mind during the movie, even when the other stuff did.

Nuff said about that. Now, go see it for Yoda and the final battle scene. It'll blow you away. I also had fun spotting rip-offs of Starship Troopers, Gladiator, Blade Runner, Jason & the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans, Close Encounters (the greys), etc. Collect them all.

And they say that Lucas grew up in a border town like 'American Graffiti' and that he is putting subliminal racist overtones in the movie...talk about stretching

What whiners these people are. So, let me get this, according to liberal nutcases, all "villians" must be white and male.

I will give them this, though: I've always thought all liberals were "lookalikes who march lockstep by the tens of thousands."

Already saw 'Windtalkers..' John Woo is one of my faves

The studio needs to cut the running time from 2 hours 30 minutes, but it was very good.

The movie I need to see is 'Gangs of New York' I hear Daniel Day Lewis is going to win next year Academy Award.

Actually in this movie the ultimate bad-a$$ villains are white males.

And the 'latino' clone troopers are the good guys from crying out loud.

Don't forget the rip-off of "The Fifth Element" (which itself had a lot of "borrowed ideas) when Obi-Wan and Anakin are chasing the bounty hunter through the planetary city of Coruscant, weaving through the floating traffic.

the last days of the Roman Empire..

Issac Asimov stole Gibbon's history, also, as the basis for his Foundation trilogy, generally judged among the greatest sci-fi ever written.

Shakespeare also took plots from other works, but man, oh, man, could he write.

And Cameron Diaz is supposedly unbeliveably good in the Scorcese movie (according to those who have seen the dailies)

'Windtalkers'

I just wish that pasty wimp wasn't in it, as I know I won't be able to resist seeing it.

Did Joeseph Campbell ever make that point, anyway Episodes 4, 5 and half of 6 are all time classics.

Ep. 3 can be great if Speilburg will direct, provided he isn't on Indiana Jones 4 at the time!

I just wish the toys weren't made in China. I had a nice collection going until the EP-3 incident.

Well, technically this is true, but these American Indian soldiers were speaking their own language, not typing code.

My Daddy was in Naval intelligence in WWII. He had some fun books about codebreaking. I guess I learned about the Navajos from him as I can't remember when I didn't know about them.

speaking their own language, not typing code.

They did have to make up a lot of modern warfare and weapons words in their language.
