MANILA, Philippines (CNN) -- The FBI was warned six years ago of a terrorist plot to hijack commercial planes and slam them into the Pentagon, the CIA headquarters and other buildings, Philippine investigators told CNN.

Philippine authorities learned of the plot after a small fire in a Manila apartment, which turned out to be the hideout of Ramzi Yousef, who was later convicted for his role in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Yousef escaped at the time, but agents caught his right-hand man, Abdul Hakim Murad, who told them a chilling tale.

A failure of the Clintonite/Freeh FBI who stuck heads in sand ostrich style since it was all about power and getting re-elected. The permanent campaign leaves no room for counter terrorism. Too messy and real for soccer mom America.

George Bush is 100% innocent. But my take is the demon-rat spin is working and some of this tar will stick to Bush.

I don't think its sticking at all (except with a few pinhead Floridians and the Clintonistas). Last night, NBC News ran a series of comments from top Dem's from the past five years, talking about impending attacks.

I figure the Dems already have phase two (probably another leaked security memo) ready to drop this week.

I gotta' hand it to `em, they know how to play political hardball.

Amazing isn't it, how everything the Dems have tried has backfired on them?

The planned 1995 attack was called "Bojinka" and was
published in the New American in the November 5
2001 issue. (page 28) The Phillipine authorities warned
the FBI about it after apprehending and interrogating a man
suspected of plotting to kill the Pope during a visit to
the Phillipines. It puzzles me why after all this
time, the mainstream press has suddenly picked up on this.

All day CNN and MSNBC have been pounding the 95 and 99 warnings-without one mention of the Clinton administration-it's now ,"the government" was warned.

I haven't been watching MSNBC today, but CNN has a death wish going on the Bush administration. Even their Saturday morning cartoon crew is salivating at the possibility that something nasty will stick to President Bush. Jonathan Carl was practically screeching out his leading questions, very peeved when a guest didn't agree that the August briefing was specific enough for Bush to have prevented 9-11.

I happened to catch a little of the CNN show with Howard Kurtz- it critiques the media, can't remember the name of it. He and Frank Sesno were actually discussing and in some respects dissing, the total over the top behavior of the media this week. This past week was a low point for journalists, the media and never to be outdone for shabby behavior-the Democrats. The New York Post owes President Bush an apology.

I've been around here for awhile, and except for a few early months of foolish expectations, I don't recall Freeh ever being considered a hero.

We hoped he might get to the truth of Waco, that FBI heads and Web Hubbell would roll over that fiasco. We hoped FBI attorney Shapiro would be punished for giving the White House a look at Gary Aldrich's book before it was published. Find out who hired Craig Livingstone? Who took Hillary's papers out of Vince Foster's office the night he died? Forgetaboutit!

Louis Freeh was a constant disappointment....never a hero around here.
