I got to see President Reagan in person in Great Valley, Pennsylvania in 1986. I still have the invitation. Those were great times, and I will always be proud to say I saw the greatest President of the 20th century.

Ah, that was a picture of my governor and his wife right? At least it appears to be.
So sad to see Nancy looking so fragile, and so alone up there accepting that award.
The Reagan love story is unique, a fairytale marriage that should have a happpier ending.

To hear some tell it, Reagan's success was based on a premise that he galvanized 'hard core right wingers' to come out to support him.

This is a thing that is as far from the truth as possible. Reagan appealed to that large body of voters who are essentially undecided........Reagan effectively bypassed the liberal media, bringing his message directly to the American people.

Most people are of a political persuasion that leaves them largely uncaring unless something propels them towards a conclusion. It is a fact that the liberal media plays upon time and time again.

My Air Force career started in 1979. I was part of the military transformation from the Carter shell to Reagan might. I may have been too young to comprehend Ronald Reagan's greatness at the time but now I'm old enough to understand what a wondrous time that was to be alive and to be commanded by the very best. If nothing else, I get to say that I served during Ronald Reagan's two terms.

My Navy service was parallel to yours. I joined right out of high school in '79, and the election of '80 was the first in which I was eligible to vote. I'm proud to say that I voted for one of one of the greatest presidents in American history, and that I was a part of the fighting force that gave muscle to his determination to see the fall of communism.

Mr. President, you may go to your eternal reward knowing that those of us who served under you will never forget you, nor will we allow our children and grandchildren to do so.

I love Reagan. I just hope and pray that somehow (despite the liberals who want to continue to portray him as a bumbling fool, and a puppet to his advisors) he is recorded as one of the greatest presidents in our country's history. God Bless You, Mr. President.

Yes, I believe you are right about that being Governor Reagan and his wife. There are a lot of great old publicity stills from his acting days that can be found at The Internet Movie Database. Many of them are of Ron and Jane Wyman, but of course the few photos there of Ron and Nancy are far more appropriate to this thread.

Gotta give a big hand to Nancy as well. She's with her man and doing him right in his time of need. God bless her.

It's the governmentm countries and the corporations that are running America now. There is very little individual power left.

Me too. I remember he was elected to his first term on my birthday. I think I was just turning 10. I remember thinking, what a fantastic birthday present. =)
