I knew there was a reason I liked John Derbyshire, apart from his Americanophilia. This is straight shooting of the first order. It contrasts beautifully with the refusals to confront the evidence that mar the writing of most pundits who comment on the Palestinian mess.

OK, even I am too politically correct to go for all of this, and I "shower with a Jew" every morning, namely myself. Ladies and gentlemen, the Pallies are not going to be expelled from the West Bank.

Why Don't I Care About the Palestinians?
I can understand that. I don't care about the whole mess over there. All this talk of religion and ancient rights to land and blood feuds has just turned me off to the entire thing. They can do what they want to each other.

I like taking showers with Jews. Reminds me of the old '60's bumper sticker: "Save water, shower with a friend."

1. An independent state, under Arafat or someone just as thuggish.
2. Military occupation by Israel.
3. Re-incorporation into a Jordanian-Palestinian nation.
4. Some sort of U.N. trusteeship.
5. Expulsion from the West Bank and Gaza, those territories then incorporated into Israel.
----------------------------------
I vote for number 5 above (expulsion) to make things interesting. If the UN or EU starts to bitch, then Israel turns over the territories to Jordan and Egypt and builds a wall to protect itself.
These territories belonged to Jordan and Egypt prior to the 6 day war, so Israel can return those areas to the original countries.
Let Jordan and Egypt deal with their problem and Israel can wash her hands of it.

>>We now know that it's not the fault of colonialism, or neo-colonialism, or capitalism, or socialism. It's just the way these places are. They can't handle modernity, for some cultural reason we don't understand and can't do anything about.
Brilliantly put. Africa is doomed but the West refuses to admit it publicly.

"Why Don't I Care About the Palestinians?"
This is not quite how I would describe my feelings toward these homicidal maniacs. It's nice to know how my taxes fund these same creeps that were dancing in the streets and handing how candy in "Celebration" to the 911 attacks. How it just jubilates them to see americans burning and falling to their deaths in New York. I'm tired of pussyfooting around with these terrorist. The only thing I want to be paying for, when it comes to these loser's is bullets and bombs. For thousands of years these Arabs can't get past go, while we became the world's superpower in just 250 years. What's wrong with this picture?

All of this applies to the Palestinians. I spent some of my formative years in Hong Kong, a barren piece of rock with zero natural resources, under foreign occupation, chock-full of refugees from the Mao tyranny. The people there weren't lounging in UNRWA camps or making suicide runs at the governor's mansion. They were trading, building, speculating, manufacturing, working with the result that Hong Kong is now a glittering modern city filled with well-dressed, well-educated, well-fed people, proud of what they have accomplished together, and with a higher standard of living than Britain herself. One thing that Derbyshire forgot to mention is that in addition to all of their positive accomplishments, the Hong Kong Chinese don't go around blowing up themselves and as many innocent people as possible with nail bombs.
The basic problem is that 2 generations of Arabs have had their minds poisoned with racial and religious filth. How else do you get people to willingly kill themselves? This brainwashing is for nothing less than the ultimate purpose of murdering as many Israeli Jews as possible. It is funded by such "moderate" Arab "allies" as Saudi Arabia (home of 15 of the 19 WTC mass murderers), and is "intellectually" aided and abetted by such other "moderate" Arab "allies" of the US as Egypt (whose official government newspaper regularly publishes lurid accounts of Jews using the blood of non-Jews, usually children, to bake into matzoh).
I say that the problem is with the Arab culture - they simply don't seem to "get along well with others." Pretty soon I think that the "Teacher" is going to give them all a failing grade.

Expulsion from the West Bank and Gaza, those territories then incorporated into Israel."I am naive enough to hope for option 6: A constitutional democracy that guarantees freedom, turning Palestine into the Hong Kong of the Middle East. It will never happen on its own, but we can impose it upon them, exactly as we imposed it on Germany and Japan. But to accomplish it we have to unashamedly declare that American-style democracy is just plain superior to secular socialism or Islamic fascism, something that our government as currently constituted cannot or will not do.

Let's let the Palis have a chance with the land. It'd be far enough from Israel that they would be no threat there and everyone knows how much the EU loves the Palis.
Sure, give 'em France. Will the French object? I doubt it. I've already received a surrender from them.
Shalom.

Assuming that "option 5 - expulsion" should ever take place, let's just make darn certain that they don't come HERE! This is NO Country on God's green earth where these people are in a majority that has any peace or freedom. No where! Their entire philosophy is to take-over whereever they go and then impose their dark-ages brand of goverance and depotism all in the name of their "peaceful" Islamic religion!
BTW - there could be a sixth option....give Israel Florida, produce our own oil using the reserves in the ANWR and then let the Arabs kill each other over their petty differences! .... Hey, I can dream, can't I?

It can't be much fun being a Palestinian. It can't be much fun being a fairy, elf, or Santa Claus either. None of them are real. The myth of a "Palestinian people" is part of their propaganda and a big part of the problem with these Arabs.

Though he's now an American citizen, he'll always be True Brit to me.
One thing that this war has shown me, is that the British are still British, for as long as they're allowed to be. Soon, they'll be outnumbered in their own country. For now, though, Rule Britannia.

John Deryshire has gone from a paleocon to a Moledet fan in 8 months.
Perhaps he can convince Pat Buchanan, Sam Francis, and the other anti-Zionist paleos.
