This is ridiculous

East Timor? Can there be anywhere more obscure than there? (maybe Timbuktoo..).. Anyway, this will shut the Press up for the while, and frankly, since they are the Enemy he has to live with, I don't think he's giving them much...

Anyway, this will shut the Press up for the while

Even though this trip to the middle of nowhere (East Where?) has absolutely no news value, you can be certain the press will cover it with all the fevor of the slow-speed OJ chase.

I think it's a jab at Clinton by the Bush Administration.

Clinton volunteers to go to the Middle East, to N. Korea, etc.

And where does Bush send him East Timor.

Yeah, people aren't understanding what's going on here. With Clinton in East Timor, he won't be spouting off about the Middle East or domestic stuff.

To be honest, I'm surprised Clinton took the post. It shows how desperate he is to be relevant. I mean, even if he makes a breakthrough in East Timor: (a) None of the elites care about East Timor, only Christian activists care, and (b) People will be suspicious considering how Clinton fixed the Middle East.

Remember that in parliaments, the prime minister often makes his fiercest political rivals part of his cabinet. This keeps them on the same page.
