Two Carnegie scientists report discovery of human ancestor

One of mankind's earliest ancestors was a 5-inch-long, shrew-like creature that survived on insects and was fodder for dinosaurs, according to two scientists at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

Zhe-Xi Luo and John Wible are part of a team of American and Chinese researchers that have identified a fossil of the earliest- known placental mammal, called the eomaia scansoria. Eomaia is Greek for "ancient mother," and scansoria is Latin for "climber."

The problem with the creation/evolution debate has always been that "Because God made it that way" is implicitly a viable answer to any question. One problem with that answer, of course, is that it doesn't invite or even allow for further research; it's a finality. The other problem is that there's no logical difference between saying "God made it that way" and saying "Little green men from Mars made it that way". (note: I am a religious person, and I believe in God - I just recognize that a universal [and unprovable] assertion makes for bad science)

Don;t get me wrong. I'm religious myself. But what kills me is exactly what you said. The age old claim of "because God made it that way". I find it quite odd that God would make the laws of physics(that we know of so far) and with those very same laws, we are able to determine that the universe is at least 13 billion years old. So then God must be a real trickster to give us a brain, and not expect us to use it. Ohh well, ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Actually the "eo-" part doesn't mean "ancient" but "dawn," from the Greek word "eos" meaning dawn or daybreak.

The same root is found in eohippus and Eocene.

I thought DNA researchers have so far proven that DNA doesn't mutate into different species.

It's difficult to sort the truth from the theorizing, when listening to scientists remark on their discoveries. They make such absolute claims and are nearly always contradicted by another set of scientists, in a very short time! Given such circumstances and knowing that evolutionists seek only one thing, "the transitional" species, how can you wonder why Christian's are apathetic to these announcements?

Every species is a transitional species, so long as it leaves descendents.

Science is the creation of new understanding, often destroying the older model that was used. DNA can change. This is a fact.
