While the blither dribbles out of the news channels across America today polling whether or not people wish to see the Robert Blake murder trial televised, little attention is being paid to a rather significant development in the current crisis in Israel and the middle east.
Late last week as Israeli forces began to move back from their completed work in Jenin and Ramalah, U.N groups, the Red Cross, and others who were protesting lack of access to the embattled areas, finally had their chance. Pro-palestinian voices throughout the areas in recent weeks had proclaimed that Israel had been indiscriminate in their search fo terrorists. Claims were made that anywhere from 500 to "thousands" of palestinians had been "mowed down". The problem was - it wasn't true.
As cable news is still putting on Palestinian propogandists who wish to use their air time to rant against Israeli occupation or settlement developments, none of them are able to cop the numbers of deaths or victims that many of America's left leaning "journalists" were spouting as recently as a week ago.
On Friday, The cheif U.N. Inspector in the region, while holding his press conference state in certain terms. "No evidence of a massacre in either Jenin or Ramalah!" How could this be, how could American press have been so far off in their statements of simple fact? Primarily because of they didn't check their facts.
Today, Monday, cable news outlets are reporting that indeed actual numbers of casualties in the Jenin camp numbered in the dozens - not the hundreds, and in fact residents of Jenin were strongly encouraged to leave before the introduction of the heaviest machinery and artillery brought into the region. True, deaths did occur, but not nearly on the scale that Ms. Mitchell, the U.N., and other folks who never had any actual evidence of a massacreeasily proclaimed one as having had occured.
Palestinians had proclaimed loudly, "the accusations that we would strap bombs to corpses is ludicrous..." Really? Is it ludcrious to think that if you would strap a bomb to your own son or daughter, that you would infact change the rules of your own religion to carry out suicide bombings amongst innocent civilians (non-combatants) that you wouldn't be inclined to strap explosives to bodies whose lives had already departed? Call me crazy but I don't see how "ludicrious" that sounds.
And what did they find when they went in to Jenin. Oh, bomb making factories, crude elements used for weapons of mass destruction, illegal artillery surplus, and yes - dozens of dead bodies strapped with explosives. In Jenin, the reasons the buildings where knocked down - because the buildings identified served integral roles in propping up the terror infrastructure. Incidentally, it also appears now to be proven false that "Israel went in and knocked down every house in Jenin." There is no evidence of massive purposeful destruction of wide scale in any of the towns where Israel has been in or out of. They are looking for terrorists, they are destroying the terrorist infrastructure, and they are greatly diminishing the capacity of terrorists to continue in the short run - any suicide bombing campaigns.
As I said in a column two weeks ago. Arafat and Hussein must be removed. Arafat's direct encouragement of the suicide attacks, coupled with Hussien's offers of monetary reimbursement following the suicides, has proven to be a deadly combination for innocent people living in the region. Sharon has been no squeaky clean guy himself in days past - but on this score - and at this time - it appears he is using far more deliberation than his enemies would like to say he is.

Actually, it’s even less ludicrous than that. There’s nothing in the koran that forbids homicide bombing. In fact, there’s quite a bit to support the practice.

Wrong. Just as they were in Kosovo, the MAINSTREAM American media are the WILLING TOOLS of the left. They DELIBERATELY reported this as a massacre just as they DELIBERATELY reported 200000, then 100000, then 10000 dead Albanians. It wasn't that they didn't know the stories were false. There were reporters on the ground telling them they were false. They just wanted to report the LIE because it served their and their masters goals.

There is a mind provoking exibition in Jewish Museum in NYC called "The images of evil". It shows how insensitive we have bocome towards Nazi-style propaganda in everyday life. If you are close, go and visit before it is over.
Secretary Powell, who do you think started this? It surely wasn't Israel. Who do you think the terrorists are? Are the Arafat Palestinians our friends, our allies? I think Ariel Sharon is doing just what President Bush is doing, protecting his country from those who would harm it. And now that the gloves are off in that part of the world, do you think Genocide is not a reality? Annihilating the Jews seems to be on everyone's agenda in that area. The Media and others lie Mr. Secretary, they hate the Jew and want to be done with the race once and for all.
Quit pandering Powell and get on with the business of getting rid of Mr. Arafat and his terrorists!
I'm afriad that the press may have effectively done so already. I hope I'm wrong.
But a case in point... I have a close relative (typical liberal) who vehemently ranted and raved the other day and is convinced that Sharon needs to be tried on war crimes (even going back to the Lebanon invasion).
He's taking the liberal talking points and following em hook, line, and sinker. Once his mind is made up the Carville, Donaldson, Jennings & co. are all spewing truth, then he's completely numb to truth and facts (& for that matter logic).
I'm afraid we've got a whole country of those folks. Hope I'm wrong... but am deeply concerned I'm not. Let's face it.. unfortunately the world (outside the US) hates Israel and there's only a large continengent of folks in the US keeping it from being hunanimous. May God continue to protect Israel.
[and yes: Heaven forbid there be the murder of innocents or attrocities... no, that would be as wicked as the other side.] Don't think that those who support Israel want to give them carte blanche to wipe out any and everyone else. No siree.
IMO: As far as I'm concerned, all Sharon has done is defend his countrymen (against the grain of most of the countries of the world).
