WANTED: Conservative Radio Stations and Talk Shows !!
reformjoy | April 20, 2002 | reformjoy

Hello All!

I love to listen to Conservative Talk Radio. My only problem is I don't know where to find it, unless I spend hours spinning the radio dial!

I am looking for websites that list many different sources and hosts, and I also would like information on the numerous Conservative Networks that exist out there (for Example TalkRadioNetwork can be found at www.talkradionetwork.com )

Also helpful would be radio stations, host and play times in the So. Cal area.

But, what I am really looking for is ONE website that lists ALL stations, hosts, times, etc. without having to go to each station's website, or each host's website etc...

Anyone out there with great links?

Vintage Frank [of "The Right Perspective"] no longer calls in to the Bob Grant Show?

I think he still calls--I believe I heard him call not that long ago.

Anyway, their show, "The Right Perspective," is better than anything I've heard on AM.

AM talk radio is in decline, whereas net broadcasts and shortwave broadcasts seem to be gaining in popularity--probably because they are NOT stifled by their sponsors or the unseen liberal hand that seems to control AM and FM broadcasting.

(It's like the liberal media will tolerate a certain amount of conservative talk radio so long as it brings in some pofit and acts as a safety valve for frustrated conservatives, all providing it does not get out of hand; i.e., AM talk radio is, forgive the expression, a kind of conservative mutual mental masturbation.)

Bob Grant, by the way, is just about the only AM host I've heard that does not strike me as a complete complete bought-and-paid-for phony.

Anyway, the net broadcasts and shortwave shows are the most fun and exciting--even when I disagree with them, they're fun to listen to.

Shortwave and web radio compares to AM talke radio like a street fight compares to rehearsed cable wrestling.

Vintage Frank and John from Staten Island!! Wow!!

You gotta love a guy who hates Hollyweird--and who, while broadcasting to the entire planet on shortwave, regularly refers to Streisand as that "anus with a nose," and who calls Castro a "cigar chewing maggot."

I would love to have a Web Radio that I could tune into without having to sit at my computer. Do you know of anything like that where you can type in the web link?

I had a shortwave radio once, but the reception was bad. Any suggestions where to get one?

I looked at Radio Shack... and walked right out again!

Gee, I don't know how you might listen to web radio while you're away frome home--maybe a laptop with some kind of wireless ISP connection. I know someone who manages to listen in differnt rooms in his house by using wireless speakers connected to his PC (a pair goes for under a $100).

As for shortwave radio, I agree the reception is poor at best--but fortunately with a ten dollar twenty-foot long wire antenna from radio shack, Frank's show comes in pretty strong when the weather is clear.

I don't know why you walked out of radio shack--I hear they make good stuff. My brother bought a shortwave radio on sale from them that seemed a faithful knock-off of a very expensive brand for maybe a third the price of the original--but that was during a sale (which they have periodically, check their website).

But even with the static shortave is better than AM.

If you really want to know what to listen to type the keywords, "hate radio broadcasts" into a search engine, then read the reviews on liberal web pages--the more the liberals condemn a show, the more fun the show probably is!

KGO is a good station. Some hosts are Liberal to an extreme, though. Thanks for the reminder.

How about Larry Nichols? Do you know where his show can be found? I found a link to a Sat/Sun show at www.eyesonamerica.org last week, but as soon as I found it, the site went dead. I would love to hear Nichols, he's one of my favorites.

You're right, I was being unfair. Actually the best AM radiio I ever bought was from Radio Shack. How soon we forget!

You have a point about the liberal sites, and I find lots of great info at www.google.com so searching Hate Talk Radio, would probably be fun!

Off topic, I have found fantastic information by searching items like "HIllary, Bin Laden, 1993" at www.google.com or other entries like that. It's amazing what news reports and information is forgotten!

The most fascinating links I found, was when I heard from the Dana Roth show that Hitler had youth camps on the East Coast during the War to train "his kind" here in the US, so I went to google, and typed "Hitler, East Coast" ...what came up knocked my socks off, there was a documentary about finding a German lost sub sinking only 55 miles off the coast of New Jersey. The date of sinking is estimated at April of 1945 give or take a few weeks...can you believe that!

Strange but true!

I'll give it a try. You guys are really informed, thanks. I can probably tune in after dusk since it's out of SF, but sounds good.

Try Mark Belling, Milwaukee's obnoxious right wing screamer.
Weekdays 3 to 6 CST He's nasty & mean to callers but usually right.

Follow the link to listen on line.

I have often listened to Dana Roth and she seems to be ok. There are many things one can find with just an inquiring mind.

Becka losing an hour will be much easier on your radios and walls ;-)

Ain't it the truth? hahahaha! And, I get an added bonus. I hated it when KMBZ started delaying Rush an hour, because then I had to decide whether I was going to listen on air or on the internet. This way I can switch back and forth. And Bill O'Reilly after Rush, instead of the PITA Cyrin Petro (or however the heck you spell his name).

But I am still convinced that the GM at KMBZ is a Rush hater and has all the "breaking news/special report" interruptions he can dream up during the Rush hours. Last week was a great example. At 1:50, they broke into Rush with a "breaking news/special report" when AG Ashcroft was going to announce the warning about NE banks. Instead they got some under assistant to the kleenex box holder introducing the kleenex box holder himself. And 10 minutes later during the regular news break they didn't know any more than they did during the interruption. /Rant

Now, if we can just get Becka down to an hour! fsf

Check Mike Savage out

He's awesome. We just got him here on the east coast on WABC. Last night's show in particular was the best talk radio I've listened to in a long time. If anyone can wake up America - it's definitely him.

Another BUMP for the Just A Lot Of Talk list of conservative radio hosts.

This is a great list as it has all the info you'll need to listen to these shows online or on your radio. Some online broadcasts appear to be blocked (for syndicated shows) but there are ways to listen to those broadcasts (discussed on this website).

It is also good in that it gives the broadcast times for the different programs (some stations timeshift a broadcast).

What is lacks is coverage of local hosts. I will say that although Rush Limbaugh is carried by Clear Channel, they made a concious decision to remove local conservative talk from their airwaves.

Here's some specifics on Houston Talk Radio. In Houston Clear Channel 950AM claimed that they wanted a younger, edgier demographic of listener. Now all they offer are brash jackasses (one of the hosts even said that he would not talk politics when he took over); certainly people who listen to 950AM and think that these people represent conservatives would be sorely mistaken.

700AM KSEV has all of the old staff that were fired from 950AM last eyar. They talk local issues (which, outside of FR, there don't seem to be many public forums for conservatism in town) and offer insiteful guests and interviews.

The Clear Channel owned 560AM in Beaumont has an afternoon host who is more moderate-to-left but still better than the Houston host. They also broadcast the syndicated loudmouths.

Here's one that may not make many people's lists (and I don't know the name of the host because I only listen intermitently), 1430AM KCOH between 9-11AM I think (or 8-10). KCOH is a black owned and operated station (and has been for over 40 years). The host is one of the few black voices that I've heard locally to take the mayor to task and will criticize Jesse Jackson and others who claim to speak for him. Some of the other radio personalities there will sound off about the host "and his boy, George Bush" so there is "dissent" and KCOH would not be classified as a conservative station. I would say that this host holds a number of conservative positions (even if not all of his callers agree with him).

And for completeness of "talk radio" there is the anti-conservative, anti-capitalist, anti-American ravings of the anarchist socialists at Pacifica on 90.1FM (the left end of the dial; Pacifica can be found in a number of larger cities). Tune in to hear what the looney left is moaning about today and see just how extreme they are.

There is some sort of a device that permits you to rebroadcast the signal from your computer to a small radius around your home). I guess that it attaches to the speaker port of your computer.

The "station" can then be tuned in on any radio in your home.

I have not used these and am unware of the name of this device or a manufacturer.

Another downside is that you have to leave your computer on/connected to listen and could still get periodic dropouts due to net traffic.

I will be glad when we can listen to web radio in cars (or when stations/programs that I want to hear are added to satellite radio).

But with Clear Channel and Viacom's dominance of station ownership, don't expect the beast to surrender the monopoly so quickly...

I found one great list that included hosts, networks, stations galore, at www.eyesonamerica.org but it was suddenly pulled this week! And I didn't print up the list!

The site was gone, but if that ever happens, plug the name into Google and see if they have the page cached, like here.

I appreciate your information, you're right, being attached to the internet means that the feed would go down (for me, that's every 5 minutes, unless I surf the net while listening to web radio, I can't stay connected)
