Donation to People's Rights Fund
People's Video Network Project

The People's Video Network (PVN) comprises a group of media activists dedicated to producing videos about issues the establishment media won't touch. Its goals are to broaden public access to the mass media, build an alternative media source, expand video literacy among the people and build a national network of cable-access shows portraying people's movements here and worldwide.

PVN now has 50 public-access shows across the U.S. PVN has produced and seeks to get out widely hundreds of videos showing struggles for peace, economic, political, and social justice in the U.S. and abroad. PVN is finishing a new video entitled " Plan Colombia: We Say NO!"

A key project is the production of "Viva Chris Hani," a feature-length documentary about the life and work of the extraordinary South African anti-apartheid leader. PVN staff are going to South Africa in April to finish shooting footage for this--the most ambitious PVN video so far.

In August, PVN staff are going to South Africa again to videotape the United Nations World Conference Against Racism in Durban. The People's Rights Fund is helping to sponsor the August trip to South Africa which will help PVN to video this groundbreaking event and is accepting donations for the travel expenses. The PVN delegation includes staff members, supporters, and anti-racist activists from the U.S.

The People's Rights Fund (PRF) supports the production of many educational videos by PVN. PRF set up a Key Martin Memorial Fund to honor PVN's founder by raising funds to make the "Viva Chris Hani" video that was his vision.

PRF has established an Ellen Andors Memorial Fund to support the completion of a video about NATO. This project was begun by PVN producer and editor Ellen Andors who made "Metal of Dishonor," world-renown video about the military use of depleted uranium.
