Rep. Henry J. Hyde, Illinois Republican and chairman of the House International Relations Committee, said yesterday that Washington should seek immunity from the court for all of its peacekeeping troops.

No, Congressman...
You need to tell Washington that no US citizen will ever be tried by any authority "International" authority.

Do not legitimize this organization any more than we have.

Palestinian sympathizers in Europe and the Arab world called yesterday for the Israeli government to be investigated for war crimes, raising the prospect that leaders of the Jewish state could be among the first targets of the new International Criminal Court.

Obviously, this would set an absolutely ridiculous standard. Using this reasoning, the International Criminal Court could prosecute many of the American military personnel who participated in World War II because they fought back against the Germans and Japanese, who initiated the fighting.

So defense of one's country is now an "illegal response".

"The Israeli army has indiscriminately shelled refugee camps, using helicopters, warplanes, tanks and heavy artillery, killing hundreds of people. Medical assistance has been denied; hospitals have been shelled," Mr. Barakeh said.

As I read these words, I can't help but to think to myself "If it wasn't for those damn Palestinian suicide bombers..."

Just as I predicted. Only it's faster than I predicted. It doesn't surprise me one bit though. The Palestinians are quick to pull strings for their own advantage. And the EU is stupid enough to sign on to anything, as we have all seen. We're next!

"The administration is seriously considering withdrawing the U.S. signature, though no final decision has been made, State Department deputy spokesman Philip Reeker told reporters."

. . .seriously considering?. . .

Just 'do it'. . .

That 'eleventh hour' signature of Bill Clinton, should have been withdrawn on the 'first hour' of George W. Bush. . .

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan vowed that "those who commit war crimes, genocide or other crimes against humanity will no longer be beyond the reach of justice.",

Mean while, Palestinian terrorists continue to blow themselves up killing Israelis with no comment from the U.N. or Arab leaders.

If the International Criminal Tribunal is to be used to indulge in Jew-hatred and prosecute anyone leftists hate, it's DOA. Trust the Germans and other Europeans to ressurrect the legacy of the vile Jew-hater Roland Freisler and re-constitute the notorious Nazi "People's Court" in the guise of this foolishness. Ignore their rulings, tell them perpetually that they're impotent, make sure they know that they're illegitimate, and challenge them to enforce the actions of their new "People's Court". Rub their noses in the filth of their new kangeroo court. The Europeans deserve it.

When pigs fly! If these leftist loonies want to try any Israeli for protecting their country, they'll have to go there and get them. Fat chance of that!

"...raising the prospect that leaders of the Jewish state could be among the first targets of the new International Criminal Court."

Hope they do. It'll show how toothless their little kangeroo court really is, and will strengthen our resolve against it.

The precedent was set for Yugoslavia. Here was a country enagaged in a civil war and the globalists used it as a club against a sovereign country. The Serbian Orthodox Christians were the experiment in the new internationalist politics.

Mohammad Barakeh, a communist member of the Knesset... "The Israeli army has indiscriminately shelled refugee camps, using helicopters, warplanes, tanks and heavy artillery, killing hundreds of people. Medical assistance has been denied; hospitals have been shelled,"

Still having trouble translating Arab to Earth-speak. Apparently, in Arabspeak, targeting concentrations of gunmen belonging to organizations that have explicitly declared unrestricted war on you and your people, are actively engaged in the exchange of fire with your forces, have been urged and ordered by their leader to "fight to the death," and have repeatedly refused opportunities and entreaties to surrender, is "indiscriminate".

One wonders what would constitute a "discriminate" attack in Arabspeak. (One suspects the answer is one directed against Jewish women and children.)
