Or "sitting in" for our officer who was out of town in Nam...the NCOIC had me chew out a guy for changing his permanent records.....only time I got saluted...
Or changing the height on the records of a sargent so he couldn't go to drill sargent school....
Or throwing gravel on the tin roof of the Senior NCO hootch at 2 in the morning....
Or making whistling sounds while watching movies outside at night....All I can think of right now...
I'm convinced that if the Navy of the CCCP wanted to start somthing with the USN, the Soviet heiarchy would need a huge squadron of glass bottom boats to inspect their fleet. The Russian Navy at one time was so weak it was even frightning to the USA. We were more afraid of the threshold the Soviets would resort to nukes to make up the difference in power.
Going 'to get a bucket of steam' said to a new recruit is more in line to any stories.
Someone is pulling your chain.
No US Navy personnel would play tricks with civilians, foreign or domestic.
