The state of Israel, under his direction, has embarked on a war with the Palestinians. Sharon has encouraged death... What exactly did Sharon do to encourage death or provoke? Yet, Saudi Arabia mentions for the first time in over 50 years that it will recognize Israel under certain terms, and now its the great peace maker?

This sentence alone discredits the entire article. Sharon has been around for years, and it is laughable to characterize him as a creation of the Bush administration. His resurgence was made possible by the Arab rejection of the extraordinarily generous terms of the Barak/Clinton proposal two years ago. At that time, many moderate Israelis finally realized that there is no compromise with the current Arab leadership as represented by Arafat.
