Abe didn't partition the state. The people of the state partitioned themselves. Those in the east chose treason and those in the west chose the Constitution.

West Virginia was formed at Lincoln's urging and there's no way of arguing against that fact. Of course you don't know this because you depend on the History Channel for all your information.
