THIS is a story about Wannabes - you know, people who "want to be" something special and unique. There are SEAL wannabes and Green Beret wannabes. The Palestinians are soldier wannabes.
They have several pictures of dead Palestinian terrorists, at least one of which is a "before and after."

The Pali bullet-spraying event was posed/staged/planned, IMO, but the anguish on the face of the guy in the aftershot shows they weren't expecting any serious return fire.
Ricochets can kill cleanly, can't rule it out -- but I think a rifleman squeezed one off from an elevated position.
I mostly see vets itching to just do something, anything to help. Feeling helpless sucks, especially after you've been trained and accustomed to be able to react to a crisis.
Your idea makes sense. I hadn't considered that maybe the Pali's got surprised by return fire during a photo-shoot.
