Between March and June 1999 forces of the FRY and Serbia forcibly expelled some 863,000 Kosovo Albanians from Kosovo. Of these, 783,000 - the vast majority - stayed in the region - in Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro (FRY) or Bosnia-More

.....the outflow of Kosovo Albanians as refugees resulted from systematic and widespread expulsions carried out throughout Kosovo by the Serbian forces. Once the OSCE-KVM left on 20 March 1999 and in particular after the start of the NATO bombing of the FRY on 24 March, Serbian police and/or VJ, often accompanied by paramilitaries, went from village to village and, in the towns, from area to area threatening and expelling the Kosovo Albanian population. You said.. "Trying to debate the facts with this person is like slapping yourself round the face with a wet kipper."

Well, I think a wet kipper around your face quite suits you

"...in particular after the start of the NATO bombing of the FRY on 24 March, Serbian police and/or VJ, often accompanied by paramilitaries, went from village to village and, in the towns, from area to area threatening and expelling the Kosovo Albanian population..."

When Milosevic questioned Albanian witnesses, one man stated the whole village just up and left without ever seeing any Serb police, paramilitary, or army. They were leaving on rumors or agreements between themselves. This particular witness said his group did meet up with the Yugoslav army while already traveling and on their way. The army did NOT take any documents nor passports from the group - it advised them to move in the direction of Southern Serbia, but the Albanian group just went their own way towards Macedonia - no one forced them, no one prevented them. Probably a very common story. To look at the groups of refugees there were no black eyes, cuts, dirty clothes, bullet wounds - they mostly all had a safe and short trip to the border with Macedonia or they went to Albania or Montenegro. Some also went to Serbia.

The UN is anti-Serb and has been party to the ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Kosovo and the destruction of churches right under their noses. They are obviously biased against Serbs and have been throughout the destruction of Yugoslavia.

When Afghanistan was being bombed on a scale smaller than Kosovo people pored over into Pakistan. That is what bombing does.

I rely on my eyes to note the condition of the people. I was shocked at how good they (the Albanians) looked. No way they had been wandering in the woods for weeks - let alone days. No way did they look injured. If you saw the victims of some of the ethnic cleansings in Africa - arms chopped off, machete wounds to their head, real skinny stick people, dirty, real horror in their eyes vs. people wearing jeans and pony tails, designer watches, combed hair, good coloring to their faces, etc... you'd know that those Albanian refugees looked no more beat than someone who's been out cutting their grass for and hour on a mildly warm day.

The Albanian prisoners have just about all been released from Serbia. In photos I saw they looked well-enough. And no one was walking out on crutches - unlike the Serb soldiers caught by Albanian terrorists in Southern Serbia who, when finally released - WERE WALKING OUT ON CRUTCHES WITH SEVERE INJURIES. They had been tortured with electricity, beaten contantly, and their tendons had been snapped - that's why they were on crutches. They had to be hospitalized.

Joan, you are out of your mind. Go to your cabinet and take the tablets like your doctor told you.

The UN police in Kosovo allows crimes to happen constantly to Serbs and hardly ever goes after the perpetrators. UN staff also stay in the houses of ethnically cleansed Serb refugees and the Serbs do not receive rent for this, but Albanians probably do. Ethnic cleansing of Serbs worked in the favor of UN personnel and NGO's and other foreign staff in Kosovo because now they have plenty of Serb apartments and houses to stay in.

So the UN wanted ethnic cleansing, so they could have cheap housing in Kosovo?

Joan, you need stronger medication.

Goodnight.

The following was written in September 1999, and shows how the foreigners gained living space when the Albanians ethnically cleansed the Serbs - no wonder they just stood by. Notice, ABrit, that the writter also mentions the "language police" regarding speaking Serbian. This was BEFORE THE MURDER OF THE BULGARIAN UN MAN WHO WAS KILLED FOR SPEAKING A SLAVIC LANGUAGE AFTER HIS RECENT ARRIVAL TO THE PROVINCE. See Zoran knew well whereof he spoke. I trust he described everything well. There were "language police". People WERE killed for speaking Slavic languages - the Bulgarian wasn't the only one. I've read of other cases - one was a "Bosniak".

zoran

Now hundreds of new, nicely furnished apartments, built to the highest European standards are at the exclusive disposal of UN, EU (European Union) and NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) bureaucrats and their entourages: secretaries, clerks, mistresses, drivers, assistants of all sorts (politically correct bureaucrats do not have servants!) deputies, etc…

How convenient for them.

The old tenants, Serbs and other incorrect people are cleansed by the secessionist Albanians and dispossessed by the UN and EU. What a charade. NATO is here to defend the Albanians' rights and culture (supposedly) but they don't want to live in the Albanians' orientally-set-up households - they feel better in the European homes of those dispossessed Serbs they helped drive out.

Meanwhile, in Pristina the KLA has introduced the "language police." Speaking Serbian - the language of the enemy - is strongly prohibited. Albanians have to report anyone who does so and who ever does can expect serious problems...

Keep telling us about the refugees fleeing Government forces.........but make sure to omit the fact that KLA called in airstrikes on 3 groups of Albanians returning to their homes.

It is obvious why the "800,000" refugees returned......the cluster bombing stopped

Also please reconcile the fact that in 1998 some 110 civilians were killed while in the year 2000 some 246 civilians were murdered. if Blair and Clinton were telling the truth........why did the murder rate nearly triple by UNMIK's own self serving numbers ?

Thanks to the socialists Clinton-Blair.....Kosovo is now a much more dangerous place to live for anyone but a gun toting KLA fanatic. For the KLA killers such as Remi/Ceku/Harandanji/and Shala, UNMIK administered, Kosovo is now a paradise.

As for the KVM reports being falsified. The Swiss article was posted here a week or so ago. It had extensive interviews with OSCE-KVM types who said that higher ups falsified their reports. Both Wonders and Wraith had a long discussion of the subject.

You said, "It is obvious why the "800,000" refugees returned......the cluster bombing stopped."

You would have thought the Kosovo Albanians would be really pissed about being cluster bombed, wouldn't you?

Show me, from a reliable source, one word of complaint by the Kosovo Albanians, about the NATO bombing.
