Great post, nick.
These 'post modernists', 'deconstructionists' or however else they like to refer to themselves, need to be spanked and sent back to elementary school to learn basic logic and multiplication tables, as well as good manners. They are intellectual nihilists, and by that I don't mean that they are intellectuals who are nihilists, but that they seek to destroy thinking itself, while feeding off the decaying carcass of our Western intellectual tradition, embodied by the great universities of our nation. Giving these brats tenure is like giving control of a locomotive to an imbecile who believes the purpose of a train is to jump the tracks and kill all the passengers. Reading this garbage makes me long for my own university days when I was taught by European scholars steeped in Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas. I believe this BS began, philosophically, with Wittgenstein, although it also has roots in Marxist social criticism. 'Tear it down and replace it with nothing' is the leftist creed, whether applied to social institutions OR to abstract thinking. Question is, if all 'thinking' is inherently suspect, what makes this new 'non-thinking' any more worthy? Why do we need universities and professors at all, and why should this pink-haired 'lady' be drawing a comfortable salary at someone else's expense?
