Gonna be one heck of a party at the piano bar up in the sky with Uncle Milte and Dudley tonight.
To: Brytani
He always smoked H. Upman cigars. I'll dig one out and smoke it tonight in his honor.

Milton deserves more than one thread. But, just FYI, ahis news was already posted
here.

Bob Hope will be 99 in May. He is the last of the old timers left. I saw him several years ago at his golf tournement in Palm Springs and he did not look that good then. He has got to be next.

Dudley Moore and Milton Berle on same day ....wow. May they both rest in peace.
Thanks to both for all the laughs.

This is just so sad. First Dudley, now Uncle Milty. Lord bless both these men. I know God will have two brilliant comics to entertain him now.

Milton Berle was reportedly one of the BIGGER stars in showbiz, if you know what I mean.

Wow. Him and Dudley Moore in the same day. That hurts. Did George Burns ever make it to 100?

This is very sad. Just Monday night I saw "A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" on TCM (Milty in one of the many starring roles, what a great cast in that one). What a hoot. Sad day -- great comedian, great guy.

Trifecta! Who will be #3?
Bob Hope?

I've been reading both posts about Uncle Miltie. Haven't seen one bad word yet. Maybe, unlike some stars you all know, he never tried to change the world to his own precepts, he just entertained.
I remember as a youngster avidly watching Mr. Berle on our grainy, 7-inch black and white TV. His presence filled the screen and then some.
God bless you, Milton. Thanks for the memories (or as you would probably say, the mammeries!)

Uncle Miltie always stole his lines from others. So, why not once more? "Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated." And possibly, "I will my jokes to Henny Youngman, all the ones he hasn't stolen already." >p>Ba-dump-bumb. Thanks Uncle Miltie. Sleep well. Mr. Television. Thursdays will never be the same. At the 9 o'clock hour, NBC just had a nice brief tribute. They flashed up a black & white picture of him on the screen and said something like, "NBC honors the life of television pioneer Milton Berle."

How sad. There goes yet another part of my wonderful Fifties childhood. Used to watch him with my mother, father, sister, and brother. Great laughs. Always good clean fun (even though I can still hear my dad saying, "I sure do wish he wouldn't dress as woman quite so much."
Good days. Gone days. A sad farewell.

Sorry to hear it, although I hope he's with the Lord now. My wife had lunch with him last year and indicated he was still sharp as a tack, though up in his years. (As I understood it, he had quite a long reputation with the women folk, not that my wife had that close a relationship...)

Who's the third of the trio of celebs that invariably seem to succumb at about the same time? That makes Berle and Dudley Moore so far. Did anyone buy it earlier this week?
Kudos to "Uncle Miltie" and one of the last remaining true Renaissance Men.
