Bush then embarked on a two-day swing to South Carolina and Georgia, where he planned to raise more than $3 million for GOP candidates for Congress. I guess the RINO's figure trashing the Constitution is worth it so they can raise the hard money limits, eh? So who is the first group to challange this unconstitutional outlawing of free speech?
Handgun Control Inc? Any DemoRats? People for the American Way? NOW? The communists at the DU?
NO! They are all for it!
The groups that support the President and his party like the NRA are the ones with the knife in the back! The base is getting tired of being bitch-slapped by the Repub RINO's and there is joy and glee at the DNC!

"When our Second Amendment Rights are infringed, our First Amendment Rights will soon follow."
A quote from my Dad thirty years ago. Few people would have appreciated this inter-relationship back then. Now, we get to witness it in action.
Our rights are not being grabbed by an invading army. They are being wrung from us by mealy-mouthed bureaucrats and lawyers.

I hope they had it filed at the Court Clerk's office before the ink on Busk's signature was dry.

Bush organized the Bill's defeat in the Supreme Court.
I expected the lawsuit to be immediate. It was.
I expect the Supreme Court to take this up and rule it unconstitutional before it can actually do any real damage. They will.
The only thing here that has my interest is how the Supreme Court will rule. Will the Liberal Judges all file dissenting opinions, thereby voting for the dismantling of the US Constitution? I wouldn't put it past them.
Take it easy everybody.

In this particular instance; G-d bless the NRA! (Guess our President IS Charlton Heston, after all!) Someone made an excellent point on another thread recently...if just 25% of the EIGHTY MILLION GUN OWNERS in this country would join the NRA, you wouldn't hear ONE D*MN PEEP out of Congress about gun control legislation of ANY kind. If you have a relative/friend who owns a gun, and that person is NOT a member, ask them what the h*ll is wrong with them. (No flames, please...I know the NRA has blown it in the past, but there is INCREDIBLE strength in numbers. 20 MILLION NRA members? It boggles the mind...)

I'm upset, but it is going to get knocked down.

Great.
The bill is signed behind closed doors and now the President's legal representative will be opposing the NRA in court.
I guess this counts as the President's one free grope of the First Amendment.

I guess no one can claim any longer that the NRA protects only one amendment.

Looks like Bush and the NRA synchronized their watches.

Fascinating how the same few Bush flunkies persist in trying to convince us that by passing this immoral law, it is somehow good. This law stinks and Bush is a liar by signing it because he broke his promises. I and many other true conservatives will not ever support this lying president. Those of you who think the Supreme Court will fix this are delusional. We already have many campaign laws that resrict speech. This law has clauses in it that make it impossible to remove the whole thing. It would cost billions of conservatvie dollars to try to address this. Bush knows that and his liberal, lying heart is filled with pride as he surveys the irreparable damage done to liberty's cause.

So much for Kayne Robinson, the NRA's first vice president, who said at an L. A. meeting, "If we win, we'll have a president - with at least one of the people who's running - a president where we work out of their office. Unbelievably friendly relations."

Just renewed my NRA membership.

Time for a Constitutional Convention. How do we go about that?
To: PeteF
Given the last paragraph and the apparent change in tone of some press stories, it appears that when the Court declares this piece of trash unconstitutional, they are going to try to make it a bad reflection on Bush, and give McCain and company a pass.

All hail! The new Republican Party Mascot

About the only decent thing President Bush did was to sign it without fanfare. Which is an indication the heat got to him and the conservative base is riled up. With NRA's having filed a lawsuit the moment it was signed, constitutionally forcible rape's DOA along with Comrades Shays and McLame's attempt to gut the Constitution.

Gee, I thought we got rid of Bill Clinton. After all, didn't we all agree that Clinton's most horrific fault was his ability to ignore any principle that became inconvenient?
Guess he just got a full body transplant. Maybe we need to do and exorcism to really purge the white House of it's nefarious occupants.
