J E R U S A L E M, March 22 A suicide bomber blew himself up Friday at an Israeli military checkpoint in the West Bank, wounding two people, police said. One of the wounded was in serious condition. The attack occurred just several miles from the frontier with Israel, including the town of Israeli town of Afula, which has frequently been hit by Palestinian suicide bombers in recent months. It was not immediately clear whether the explosives went off prematurely or the checkpoint was the intended target. The Israeli military had no immediate comment, and there was no claim of responsibility.
