Dagnabit, a Beta FreeRepublic?
I have VHS and DVD. No Beta. They're in the wrong format.

Do the bump lists work in the beta format? And what are the new liks to them?
To: NovemberCharlie
I haven't tried it yet...if you can't correct from the preview, I'll be in trouble, LOL
I am still trying to recover from a mistake I made earlier today. Maybe someone can help me?
A few days ago, someone posted a wonderful photo of the WTC Lights with the Statue of Liberty in the foreground. I saved it as wallpaper -- it was beautiful.
What I didn't know was that I had to change the name, so I could play around with my wallpapers. Now I have lost that photo, and don't remember what it was called -- I tried searching everything I could think of, but can't find the thread.
Did anyone else save it? Or can you tell me how to find it?

Looks like it functions, does it function like it looks? Well, only enough guinea pigs with hammers pounding on a million monkeys heads will determine if they'll produce anything noteworthy. (what did he just say?)
I like it. But I'm easy too, pay me enough and I'll say and/or do anything you want me to...
'Till I get a cheque, I like it, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

As a proud guinea pig armed to the teeth with a hammer, I'm anouncing my having caused some cyber-monkey's head to implode at this time (or very shortly in the imminent near future at least).
Probably no cause for alarm, but the formating of the My Commments function is askew or awry (depending on your view point).
I will try to be more delicate with said monkeys skulls in the future. But a guinea pig's gotta do what a guinea pig's gotta do, you know?

I like the look at first blush.
And I see Opera listed as one of the three "best viewed with" browsers -- cool !
God bless this site.

Looks and function. Function and looks.1.Looks: Whats with all the purple, lavender colors in everything these days?
I have noticed on TV most of the sitcoms have purple, lavender colors in them.YUK!
I am partial to the good old red, white, and blue. That is FreeRepublic to me.
Also us older people have a hard time seeing the tone on tone words.
The (My comments) is so cluttered I am not sure where one thread begins and ends.
I don't know why it would have to have all that information on it.
2.Function: As near as I can determine it functions alright, but I don't see (my profile) link.
Are you still going to have that function? Also will you have bookmarks put the title of the link in on its own like it used to?
John, ever since you changed servers I have not been able to see dates that members have joined.
I have asked other Freepers and they say they can see the dates of members.
I have spread my window way out and still don't see any member date.
Any idea as to why this is happening? Also in my (self-search - comments)
the amount of threads in there go all the way back to November or maybe
further. How do I get rid of the old ones? It used to be they just disappeared.

This is not true. Just a couple of examples, there used to be "hit" counters to each thread as well as "reply" counters; we used to be able to post our email addys.
I can go on, but it is a waste of time.

I agree, the top level with the side window driessing is obnoxious. Why waste about 3 inches of my precious screen space displaying a flag image all the way down the page? I like see the titles right across the page, not squeezed into a narrow band in the middle.

Definitely like the "Sent To" feature in "My Mail". Hard to track the conversation sometimes when too much time has elapse from my last communique to their answer. Can you also send to multiple recipients?
To: NovemberCharlie
I STILL THINK JOHN IS DOING AN EXTREMELY FINE JOB OF IMPROVING THINGS. I know he'll get whatever glitches or minor things cleared up in record time.
Perhaps changing the resolution setting on your monitor would help you.

Have they invented a way for a member to change their screen name?

It's fine John. Just fine. EXCEPT the 'My Comments' page. It's too bunched up. Hard to read.

STOP RUN $ perl
sub RUN::STOP { exit 0 }
STOP RUN

Hmm. I guess you have to be a Perl hacker to appreciate it.
