In private meetings with the House Republican leadership, some of whom were wary about pushing 245(i) through in this subterranean manner, the president was asked to assure them that this would, at least, be the last amnesty. (The first, for 3 million illegals in 1986, was supposed to be the last, but led to the situation where we now face another.) According to the newspaper reports here, the president said no.

Which of course contradicts everything Bush said a few days ago when he purposely mislead Americans into thinking that he was going to drop Amnesties from his open border agenda. As some have pointed out, given that Bush twisted arms to get the 245I amnesty rammed through the House and only "specified" which amnesties he won't support he was in fact acknowledging that he is FOR "more" amnesties and FOR the legalization of millions of illegal aliens. Bush also admitted that his administration would not enforce federal laws against illegal immigration because the business community doesn't want him to. At least he was honest about that.

Does this surprise anyone? Unless Congress can shut down Bush’s insane open borders agenda our nation faces ever increasing perils to its sovereignty and security.

This sleazy bill will be translated in only one word across Mexico and Latin America:

!AMNISTIA!

Across Mexico, trucks are being loaded with new waves of illegals; Bush has sent the clearest signal possible that America's door is wide open. Sneak in, hang around long enough, and we'll give you amnesty.

And I still just want a list from the federal govt of the other federal laws which "don't really count", and won't be enforced.

I'm amazed at how easy it is to mislead the ignorant sheeple.

I'm not...I read FR daily.

1. Constant hooraw for war.
2. Inumerable apologists for Israel and blatant racism ('Pali' anyone?)
3. Cheerleading for the Shrub, member of a political dynasty at least as corrupt as the Kennedys.
4. Mindless politician-worship (see any thread re:Katherine Harris for instance)

I'm sure we'll see much FR justification for this immigration policy, one that Clinton would have loved to pass (remember, 'Only Nixon can go to China'). But hey, if a politician's not a 'DemonRAT' they're as pure as driven snow, right?

Too late to fix things, too soon to shoot the bastards.

Anyone see Tom Tancredo and Terry McAwful debate on Fox just a few minutes ago? Tancredo was great. I also got the impression that the hostess of the show agreed with Tancredo.

Thanks for your post. I appreciate it.

If you differ with them, this forum is the place to launch a counter argument.

I did. However, I didn't get any answer to "my details."

Here is the link regarding my last post on the subject. Link.

Unfortunately, I have to run now. But I'll be back tonight.

Because two worker households have very little time to object to polices being implemented that are detrimental to the United States and it's citizens. Because the less influence on children that parents have, the more influence the schools and liberals will have.

Clearly President Bush needs to fire every one of his domestic agenda advisors.

Bush is looking too much like his father when it comes to domestic issues. President Bush needs to sieze the bully pulpit for conservative domestic issues and stomp upon Daschle, Leahy and Co. -- just as he has against al-Qaeda through the series of powerful speeches he has given.

You're kidding, right? What in the _world_ makes you think that will make a single dime's worth of difference? Do you think the man's a mere shell, mouthing the words of 'domestic advisors'?

He doesn't live in a vacuum, buddy. The advice and counsel around him affects him just as it does anyone in such a position. He needs solid, able, conservative advisors, and from what I've seen of his actions on the domestic front he is getting the wrong advice from the wrong people. If he truly believes the amnesty and all of these home front things are peachy and wonderful then he needs some folks around him to challenge the hell out his ideas because he's walking down Democratic Avenue tossing out prizes and favors to the wrong crowd.

Letting illegals stay = Amnesty for those illegals.

Not only that - it just encourages more illegals which will equal more amnesties in the future. There is no end to this.

I just got back from the grocery store and iceberg lettuce is $2.69 a head and Romaine is $2.99 a head. I guess having slave labor is not keeping down the cost of produce after all.

McAwful kept saying that granting amnesty is the kind thing to do because, after all, "they're here." Tancredo and the hostess (I think her name is Diane Dimond) kept saying, "Well, yeah, they're here, but the only reason they're here is because they snuck in!" HELLO!!! LOL And they said that McAwful would have to come up with a better reason to amnesty them than just the fact that "they're here." McAwful brought up how glad he is his Irish ancestors came here, and Tancredo asked him if his ancestors had come legally, and McAwful had to admit that they had. Then Tancredo pointed out that nobody had said anything against legal immigration. Tancredo also made the point that not all the beneficiaries of 245(i) were Mexicans, but also people from the Middle East or anywhere, for that matter. He made a lot of good points, like how 245(i) makes suckers out of people who are waiting their turn to immigrate here legally. McAwful's point was that it's mainly Mexicans who are coming here, and "they're hard workers" and "they're here."

It ended in a shouting match with both men talking over each other. It was hard to make out what they were saying at that point, but McAwful got a bit hysterical, accusing Tancredo of just not wanting people to come here. Tancredo kept saying, "You're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong," and he ended with some sort of insult...calling McAwful "fool" or "stupid" or something like that. I like this Tancredo guy! LOL

Sweetie, flag me when there is less insults and name-calling on these threads. I don't mind some insults and trashing, that's all part of politics I guess, but it's hard to read insult after insult from people who I once thought were educated and civilized. OK, darling?

If you can identify with your very attractive graphic, no way would anyone insult or trash you.
However, El Presidente Jorge needs trashing, and I'm not sure that it is possible to insult him.

I read your link, and it is a rational, well reasoned justification of Bush's actions.

My problem with your analysis is the same problem that I have with over-crowded prisons that give early release to felons. Outlaws are outlaws and shouldn't be given a pass.

My remedy? Bring back our troops from the Balkans station them on the border. Beef up and expand the INS. Mine the Mexican border. Put up guard towers. It's all a part of recognizing that there's a problem and dealing with it.

If you think it's just the republicans doing all of this, you are sooooooo blind to the Democratic treachery. You probably think that Bill Clinton was the best president ever. I don't care if you do or don't take the lord's name in vain, if you are so blind to the truth, it makes no difference how pious you are, you're just another one of the duped masses.
