Zell Miller Warns Fellow Dems for Axing Pickering
NewsMax ^ | 3/15/02 | Limbacher

Democrats will pay a political price for their Borking of U.S. District Judge James Pickering of Mississippi. That warning comes not from President Bush, who was shamefully late in defending his nominee, but from Sen. Zell Miller, D-Ga.

"The political repercussions are too obvious to ignore," Miller said a day after the Democrat-ruled Senate Judiciary Committee voted on party lines not to let the full Senate decide on elevating Pickering to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

You have to wonder how Judiciary kingpin Patrick "Leaky" Leahy of Vermont avoided being struck by lightning when he replied, "I don't look at judicial nominations through a political prism."

(Why did the 10 Dems refuse to give the Senate the choice of approving or rejecting the nominee? Notice how those who claim to be "pro-choice" are anti-choice on practically every issue?)

Miller said he was "very disappointed" by the defeat of Pickering, a "good and brave man."

"This action may very well elect a Republican governor in Mississippi and it will certainly make it even more difficult for Democratic candidates to be successful in the South," Miller said in a statement.

The committee Democrats' disgraceful smear of Pickering provides Miller the perfect opportunity to switch parties, as Republicans have been dreaming of. After all, the Dems couldn't have killed Pickering in committee if Sen. Jim Jeffords of Vermont hadn't left the GOP to become an "independent." It's about time to repay the favor and even the playing field.

P.S. To those NewsMax readers who have asked for the names of the anti-choice 10 on the Judiciary Committee (all Dems, of course): Leahy, Bush's chum Teddy "Ladykiller" Kennedy of Taxachusetts, White House wannabe Joe "Plagiarism" Biden of Delaware, Herbert Kohl of Wisconsin, Dianne Feinstein of California, Russell "Trash the Constitution" Feingold of Wisconsin, Charles Schumer of New York, Dick Durbin of Illinois, former Internet millionaire Maria "Can't Pay" Cantwell of Washington and White House wannabe John Edwards of North Carolina.

I don't want to brag, but I told you all so! The GOP is beyond furious over this, and is going to fight back against the RATS like the US military is towards Al-Qaida. The RATS will be regretting their Borking of Pickering for a long long time to come.

I agree, in many ways this was a good gauntlet for them to throw down.

"Democrats will pay a political price for their Borking of U.S. District Judge James Pickering of Mississippi."

I really hope so, Timesink. It's just getting exhausting to invest so much hope for conservatism only to have the GOP as a fallback.

Trent Lott has redefined the term "Spineless" on so many occassions I've become pretty cynical. I'll hold out and hope one more time...

Still, what's my alternative? Hillary 2004? *barf*

WHY WON'T RACICOT RUN FOR THE SENATE in MT (where's he's very popular) and help the GOP recapture power? If the GOP doesn't retake the Senate, there'll be no payback for Daschle. I suspect Racicot is Daschle's favorite Republican, because Racicot won't help the Republicans win back the Senate.

Worth noting.... In the past, the Dems could count on the mass media to cover their s**t covered butts when they pulled a stupid stunt like the Pickering smear. But this time, it will fall apart. America no longer watches ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN. They watch FOX News, and FOX is telling it like it is. They will rue this one in November.

Let's look at those ten liberals, who voted against Judge Pickering, one more time.

Pat "The Slime" Leahy of Vermont, Teddy "Ladykiller" Kennedy of Taxachusetts, Joe "Plagiarism" Biden of Delaware, Herbert "Baldy" Kohl of Wisconsin, Dianne "The Dyke" Feinstein of California, Russell "Trash the Constitution" Feingold of Wisconsin, Chuckie "The Knucklehead" Schumer of New York, Dick "Head" Durbin of Illinois, Maria "Can't Pay" Cantwell of Washington and John "The Slick" Edwards of North Carolina.

Actually, lots of people do still watch ABC, CBS and NBC News; they just happen to be either liberals themselves or apolitical sheeple. The conservatives have switched to alternatives over the last 10-15 years, and are far better at getting the truth out.

The Dems have all their criminals and close relatives of criminals on the Judiciary Committee. Tells us all where they relaly get their campaign funds.

Funny how another 30 years have demonstrated that Spiro Agnew was absolutely correct about the "left"....... Well, he should have known, eh?!

A smart GOP would attack the 'RATs in the South as the Party of the North. They are bigoted and prejudiced against Southerners. They want to run everyone's life. Etc.

They are not prejudiced against just Southerners. Liberals are also prejudiced against Northerners, and I don't think you can properly label the bigots who live in Palm Beach as being all that "Northern".

Then there are the Middle-States bigots like Mikulski. If post-generational reverse deportation were lawful, she'd be the one I'd wish to be first in line.
