When I met him (President Bush, that is), I made sure to look right into his eyes and they looked hazel to me.

That's my real guess too, hazel. Hazel eyes can look either green or blue, depending on what one is wearing. I think that once in a while they look blue, once in a while they look green, but most of the time, they look hazel.

When I saw President Bush, I was miles away from him in a huge autitorium. I could hardly see him, much less his eyes! LOL!
