I really hope that some of these Damolcraps watched it as they seem to have a lacking in long term memory. Especially Dasshole, Gepfart, Hollings, Byrd, etc..

I'm a little sickened by the arrogance of the media. Somehow, they think they are capable of watching scenes of violence and death, but that they need to 'edit' out that stuff for the average joe.
For some reason, I don't trust their motives. Honestly, after watching that video last night, I was thinking that without seeing even one single body, not to mention the hundreds of bodies and body parts they apparently edited out, it was tough to really truly appreciate the death associated with this horrible attack.
Oddly enough, when it comes to Israeli-Palestinian violence, the media doesn't hesitate to show the victims. Are our dead better or something?

I can't get the sound of the first plane's engines braking out of my head. Then the big shattering slam into the side of the building...
Have we EVER done anything to ANYBODY that rivals the brutality of that act?
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were more horrific than this...but that was the culmination of a long war for the future of earth. This is coing from some half-assed desert land inhabited by brutal animals. WHat did we do to match this?
How in the hell can ANYONE think that we must sit around and drink chamomille tea with two hands opinionizing about the US's evil deeds worldwide after that? How?

I watched 9/11 last night, I rarely watch anything other than Fox News. I must say it was very well done. I'm not sure I would have wanted to see the dead as there may have been someone I knew. I hope that the Rats are hiding their heads in shame this morning especially chief rat Hildabeast. Anyone who supported the Klintons and found them to be above the fray I no longer want to know! I blame the Klintons and their supporters for what happened 9/11. It's only that simple!

I was especially moved by the shots of the WTC in the background, casually accepted as part of the NY scenery.
I recently experienced an identical emotion when I saw my now-deceased father in a family video, calmly doing his thing.
The emotion is hard to pin down. It's a mixture of longing and homesickness, combined with that feeling of love that you get when you catch of glimpse of someone you love dearly in a crowd or at a distance.
I couldn't take my eyes off The Towers whenever they came into view, and I decided that the best memorial NYC could build would be to erect huge skeletal towers where the WTC structures once stood. The surrounding ground would be pristine and natural grass out of respect for those who died and the buildings would be only girders so the blue sky of Heaven would be visible all around. The monument would be as tall as the original twin towers, filling the void in the NYC skyline and showing the world that we can recover and we will remember.

For the next part of this, the light beams shot up into the sky from lower Manhattan will be fantastic. I have been watching them test the lights all week from my Upper West Side apartment and I think it will be very impressive to all. It looks hauntingly beautiful and I think even though this is planned for only a month, there will be outcry for it to continue permanently.

Certainly some of the most powerful and moving footage I've ever seen. No desire to ever watch it again, but it is beyond incredible that so much of the event was caught on film.
The battalion fire chief, on film, hearing the first plane overhead, and WATCHING IT fly into the first tower.
The same guy, and the look on his face in the lobby of Tower 1 as he heard Tower 2 collapse.
NYFD firemen, tough, steely eyed and in full battle gear, ready for ANYTHING, looking stunned and yet full of resolve.
Absolutely amazing, Pulitzer Prize to the Nth material.

It was a very power program. I had a pain in my chest as I watched it, and had to wipe back the tears. I thought about leaving the room, but couldn't. This should be played for every high school senior civics class in the country. NEVER FORGET!

Argh! I missed it. Does anyone know whether/when it will be rebroadcast?

During this morning's Memorial Services, the Greek Pastor and Bishop of St. Nicholas church spoke. Here's a picture of their now demolished church. It will be rebuilt. This photo really moves me......

One thing that has amazed me is the chain of events that had to occur so that we could see the film last night.
There was the documentary about a "probie" being filmed at the fire station closest to the WTC. They were called out to a possible gas leak that was less than two minutes from the WTC, which made this crew the first to reach the WTC. I may be wrong, but I believe they are the only ones to capture the shot of the first plane hitting the WTC. They were in the first building hit, but the second to collapse. If they had been in the other building, it is possible they would have perished and we would not have the footage we saw last night.
It may all be a string of coincidences but, IMHO, this film crew was meant to be there to document the events of the day.

..........remember that we are still at war; that the enemy launched it with a callousness that should banish any doubts about the morality of our cause; and that, when resolve falters, we remember the people and civilization were fighting for and the thousands of victims who have already paid the price............ BUMP.
