No. I said that the yeshiva concept, however innocent its origin, changed over time to a breeding ground for religious fanaticism, and that the madrassa concept later imitated this process. Sure lots, probably, most, of both retain their originally intended function, and many doubtless expel the criminally inclined. And there is a considerable difference in degree between the worst (in this sense) of the yeshivas vs. the worst of the madrassas.
But not a difference in kind. Religious fanatics are far more alike than they are different. IMO the yeshivas are becoming, if they are not already, a significant threat to Israeli national security. But Israeli politics is such that nothing will be done about it until (if then) they become a threat to American national security.
