Neighbor Arrested in Van Dam Case:(Police Have No Motive Linking Him To Danielle)

" The elder van Dams say they stayed up with their friends for about an hour, and then went to bed."

Folks, check the earlier accounts. Originally, it was stated that the friends stayed only about 15 minutes. The van Dams seem to change their stories a lot in this case. Yet another unconfirmed report stated the friends stayed much longer--and my money is on that one being the true one.

For all those yay-hoos who insist and screeching, "rumor, rumor!"--please note--so far the rumors have proven to be far more accurate than the van Dam's accounts of what went on that night. The truth of the matter is, the van Dams are not always being straight with the press. You can't trust what they say.

At least one account I read stated that other people saw Westerfield dancing with van Dam, so I don't think it was just his word. So that brings us back to, why is she claiming it never happened? What's in it for her, to cast doubt on that story? Could it be that he was one of the "two guys" she picked up at the bar and brought home? At least, that's the question I'm asking.

Only 2 days after the story broke, and the girl was missing, Channel 10 in San Diego had an on camera interview with Westerfield. They asked him about Friday night. He said, and I quote, "My friend Gary and I went to Dad's Cafe, where we met Brenda and two girl friends. We shot pool with each other, and joked around for a while. I danced with Brenda. I left around 10:30 P.M." Now it seems strange that Westerfield would have been that open, on TV, knowing that Gary and 4 others would dispute his story. In fact, that was an accurate account of at least a "portion" of the evening. Was it Gary and Westerfield who joined in for the late night SWING EXTRAVEGANZA?? Maybe it is time for Brenda VD to speak clearly and unhibitively on this matter. She seems to have few inhibitions, so it seems.

She seems most inhibited when asked to tell the truth. I think the story told by the disk jockey will turn out to be much closer to what really happened than anything we've heard out of the van Dams so far.
