These are political rallies. Price of admission is a hoot and a holler -- lots of hoot'n and hollering is preferred.

Unless I am mistaken, these are fundraisers, Dan, with an average price of $1,000 bucks a head. As far as I can tell, the hooting and hollering is for those who get to stand at the door. Do you want me to post the email was sent by the Bill Simon for Governor email alert?

Here's a clue...

Paid for by Bill Simon for Governor Committee FPPC #11233475

There is nothing wrong with asking people to stand in front of a fundraiser. It looks good for the cameras and that helps the candidate. What I expect as a minimum standard at FreeRepublic is to tell people the WHOLE purpose and nature of the event. If that isn't communicated clearly it isn't the whole truth. Further, those FReepers who might wish to attend and pay for the meals should be offered the opportunity so that they know how to dress and to bring their checkbooks.

Don't you want more paying attendees?

Hey, I'm going to try and attend, but I've been swamped with business out of state. I'm back for a few days and then going again ... sounds like it'll be fun! I haven't been to a good rally since the pro-war rallies back when I was living in Los Angeles in 1991.

I just filled out my ballot and my wife's taking it to the post office on Monday. I already voted for Bill Simon! Have you?
