Student Film Turns Camera on Gore -- Chinagate

Above is an interview with a CONSERVATIVE student filmmaker who's bucked the USC faculty and made a film critical of Al Gore and Chinagate.

Article also has links to other conservative artists.

This is what conservatives need to do. Culture CREATING instead of merely culture COMPLAINING.

He had more trouble making this movie than Dalton Trumbo in 1952!

Yet he believes things are changing. That the internet allows conservatives to go above studio heads and create market demand for conservative films.

I like hearing stories like this better than whining about how Hollywood (or Acedemia or the media) are biased.

It's good when conservatives get up and do something.

Culture CREATING instead of merely culture COMPLAINING.

It's happening as we speak. AM radio is to us what FM radio was to them in the 60s. We own the internet, as computers and logic tend to go hand in hand.

Their comedians aren't funny anymore as they've become the establishment, just like the pigs in Animal farm. A flawed establishment that has given us reason to activate, so as to tear it down.

Not only must conservatives do more, they must network among themselves. We need an arts funding infrastructure, artists' cooperatives, etc.

The Left provides huge subsidies for their artists. Money from the government, foundations, universities, and private donations. A massive supportive infrastructure, nurturing and training a ready pool of artists (writers, musicians, filmmakers, academics, etc.). They subsidize a talent pool, kept on standby, ready to be hired by Hollywood, PBS, universities, the networks, magazines, etc.

Conservatives have stupidly ignored creating any comparable infrastructure. Plenty of money for yearly campaigns, but very little to nurture a year-round talent pool. Conservatives would be wise to subsidize (yes, private welfare) their own artist pool, their own talent bank.

Artists are like an army. You can't pay them solely when they go to battle. Rather, you must feed and support them year round, so they can afford to train, and hang around, and march up and down the field -- so they'll be there when you need them.

The Left understands this. It's like building an army, or a spy network. You must think longterm.

Conservatives expect their artists to either earn a living wage from their art right off the bat, or do it on the side. You can do that, and many do. But you'll have more trained artists if you also have a vast funding/cooperative infrastructure.

The Left does, conservatives do not. And conservatives wonder why the culture and media are dominated by the Left. Why, for every Rush or Mel Gibson, there are dozens, hundreds, of liberals.
