(Pittsburgh, PA) - Officials at a Pittsburgh hospital say an Indiana County man traveled 300 miles across the state with his dead wife's body in the passenger seat.
Delight Melitski died of liver failure in Philadelphia last week.
When her estranged husband found out she died, he reportedly went to the funeral home and took the body.
He arrived with her corpse at U-(niversity of)P-(ittsburgh) M-(edical) C-(enter) Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland over the weekend.
UPMC officials say Andre Melitski brought his dead wife here to donate her body to science.
Even though the case is bizarre, police say criminal charges probably won't be filed.

I guess this really isn't news. There are LOTS of dead people in Pittsburgh, brain dead and otherwise. Heck most of 'em vote every election which is why this has been the Land O' the RAT for so long.
A more creative excuse might have been "I was bringing her here for a remake of Night of the Living Dead".

Of course he took her to Pittsburg, where else would you take your dead wife, Cleveland?

Is this a great, eye-catching title or what? Worthy of the New York Post.

Probably just trying to get out of paying the undertaker.

He was seen earlier driving through the streets yelling "Bring out your dead!"
To: Lancey Howard
Well then he was confused and thought he was in Pittsbugh.
Actually Philly just popped into my head as possible answer.

On the whole, I bet she'd rather be in Philedelphia.

Probably just trying to get out of paying the undertaker. There are no undertakers in PA. Only overpayers in the Commonwealth of PA.

Heck, why not? Not only did he get out of paying for an expensive funeral, he got paid $50 for donating her body to science. I'll bet the relatives are pissed, though. What good is it to save the money if your family is looking to put bullets in your behind?
To: Excuse_My_Bellicosity
Stop and think of the poor man for a moment... Imagine driving that far with someone you loved.... Also, when Universities finish with the body, they usually cremate the remains, and return them to the family. It might have been a wish of hers that he was just fulfilling.

On the whole, I bet she'd rather be in Philedelphia. Yup. Somebody beat me to it. Rats.

It might have been a wish of hers that he was just fulfilling. Something tells me she was a "Lonesome Dove" fan...

I keep thinking about what would have happened if this guy had driven up to a Police DWI checkpoint.
Now that would have been one conversation I would like to have listened to.

This way he doesn't pay for transporting the body, and doesn't pay for a funeral (because of donating the body).
Either he's very poor, or very cheap.
