Sweeps started Thursday, January 31st. You're correct that some of the other networks have decided to use reruns and save new episodes for March and April. FOX, on the other hand, decided to not use reruns since their season started so late with the the World Series. The other networks are telling advertisers that they should ignore these two weeks since the Olympics are a quadrennial event that distorts the season's actual numbers. But all of that doesn't change the fact that NBC advertisers are getting their money's worth (unlike Sydney where NBC ran extra ads for free to compensate for lower ratings).

Thanks for the sweeps info. But I do think that when all of the news sources are giving such glowing reports about the high numbers for NBC's Olympic coverage, they should also mention that the other nets (excepting Fox) have basically decided not to fight them. It makes a big difference.
