Nice start, now, how about:

How the media bashes whites, rich people, business, families, religion, war on terrorism etc....

Class warfare does not stop here after all. From the White coalition of Nazi medias in 1940 Germany to the rainbow coalition of today in the media, have we really made progress? Are the anti-gay religious going to go in the dustbin of history? Or is it the other way around? The anti-religious gay?

If in the doubt, stay out from class warfare conflicts.

"...the only people in the entire world who ever really stood up to the beast and faced it down were Slobodon Milosevic and his Serbs and, to me, that's enough....

Beautifully put--even if Mr. Milosevic had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to the bridges over the Danube, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Serbs. At least he recongnized a line in the sands of history when one slapped him in his baby-face.

J, The "expert" needs to understand that "the powers that be" and their media lackeys regularly manipulate events to CREATE "ethnic conflicts". Socialism DEMANDS the separation in one form or another for its very existance. Besides the money that is made by the parties fomenting the conflict. Peace and love, George.

Thanks for posting this. I can remember being utterly astonished at the actual content of his speech on Kosovo Field---at the mild, classically Liberal European sentiments expressed therein. It was presented on a German satellite news program in an English-speaking broadcast. There was a strange disconnected feel to the commentary because the Talking Heads kept telling me that I was hearing a speech of such malignance that had not been heard in Europe since the days of Hitler. Yet my ears knew better.

The thing that killed him in the eyes of the Masters of the Universe was the one emotional outburst when he declared that he would not let anyone "hurt you."

This is the only mortal sin left--outbursts of affection and protectiveness towards the sheep one is preparing to sheer and slaughter. One must work to develop a stoic acceptance that sheep, after all, are just sheep; and bear up under the fact that they must be sheared and slaughtered from time to time. How else could a Master of the Universe live with Himself?

Also, when are "experts" going to start delving into the psychology of those who have deconstructed the Serbs? Milosevic will be convicted because the Serbs must be destroyed. Why? When we understand the answer to this--and it's not very hard, really, to find the answer--then we'll be able to predict the future with some accuracy.

I've noticed a marked upsurge in "conservative" commentary the past few weeks in which Milosevic is casually referred to with his old appelations "monster", "butcher", "maniac"--the whole litany. (There are some who think a "Bush" administration is qualitatively different than a "Clinton" administration and they are deluding themselves into believing that the Serbs will find some relief....)

"Conservatives" are being taken to the cleaners and they don't even know their pants are off. They waste their mental energies defending "capitalism", the myth of "free markets" and whining about "affirmative action". The biggest "affirmative action" project in the world is being carried out in the Balkans and conservatives are still referring to Milosevic as "another Hitler"...

Mali Herzogovac

The official Neo-Ustasha policies of the Zagreb governments since 1991 are pretty evident by the following items (and a embarassment to all decent Croats everywhere)

1) The naming of Mile Budak street in downtown Zagreb
2) The tacit acceptance of singing NDH 'athemns' at public gatherings, both official and un-official
3) Never cleaning up "U" grafetti
4) Removing most of the little bronze plagues in Zagreb commemorating anti-Ustasha Croats
5) The destruction of hundreds of anti-Ustasha memorials throughout the country. The destruction of memorial at Gudovac is just one example
6) The construction of a Francetic Memorial in Sljunj.

Until decent Croats rise up and stop the semi-official glorification of the NDH years, Croatia will forever be tainted with Jasenovac. Germans have been able to rejoin the family of nations because they are obessed with attacking the slightest Neo-Nazi activity. Official Germany still constantly apoligizes for the crimes done by (some) of their Great-Grandfathers.

Yet, Official Croatia engages in silly sorts of apologizing for NDH horrors, trying to downplay the NDH killings, spending great effort justifying why today's Croatia uses NDH symbols.

Until Croats follow the modern German path of apology and complete detachment from the slightes hint of pro-Ustasha leanings, they will never be accepted into the family of civilized nations. It is up to decent Croats to do this.

I say that you and your Milosevic-loving buddies need a course in logic. Nothing in this piece absolves Milosevic of his actions. Just as none of the diatribes about how bad the KLA are excuse the Serbian attacks on Kosovo civilians.

I find it amusing that so many of the denial tactics pioneered by Noam Chomsky can be found in these apologies for Milosevic.

Clinton is slime, KLA are thugs and terrorists, Bosnian muslim militias included islamic fanatics and Milosevic is a mass murderer. None of these statements contradict each other.

"...Did you happen to catch last night's CNN hit piece on Milosevic?..."

No I didn't. But I confess I cannot bear to watch America's corporate conformist "free press". The insult to my intelligence is always too much to bear and there isn't enough brandy in the world to dull the brain after being exposed to it. I can't live beautifully in a constant state of outrage, you know.

For a while I took refuge in satellite broadcasts of foreign news, which, at its worst, is still not as insulting as American TV.

But I began to notice that most English-language brodcasts were being Americanized to a greater or lesser extent. And then there was the little incident where "Living Marxism" (it wasn't what you might think) was smashed by the corporate media mogul ITN--over the war against the Serbs, of course.

So, it's safer to hide out in history books. Anything about the French Revolution will gives useful--and accurate--insight into current events.

Still, it might have been interesting to test my prowess at predicting--almost to the letter--what the content of the broadcast would turn out to be. What was it like?

By the way--have you seen the "mass graves" report in the BBC today? It's Sadaam again--of course. The mills of the Masters of the Universe grind small (and constantly) in their never-ending search for the new Hitler....

You are unfair towards the Croats Vooch. There may be NDH types still around, but far from the generalization that is practiced here on FR.

Demonizing Serbs is wrong. Demonizing Muslims is wrong. Demonizing Croats is wrong. Need I say more?

I'm not ready to go cold-turkey off corporate news just yet, but I may give it up on the Sabbath. It's just too hard to get to sleep and prepare for the workweek when you're still quivering with outrage...

Here are a few of the things I learned last night from Christianne Amanpour:

1) Milosevic was a bad man. A very bad man.

2) I am supposed to hate him. If I don't hate him, I am also a very bad man.

3) He was bad for the economy, and is therefore a war criminal.

4) He started all of the Balkan wars.

5) Many people died in NATO bombings who could otherwise have lived. This is Milosevic's fault, since NATO was bombing for peace. Richard Holbrooke gives me his word as a man--a very smart man--that this is true.

6) The Serbs--after a generation or two--might be able to redeem their "collective guilt" for having elected him. But this is something the UN will have to decide.

7) Wartime slaughter on the part of the losers is called genocide.

8) If you're going to kill civilians in wartime, go big. Don't hold back. Be like the British at Dresden or the Americans at Hiroshima. Otherwise, you'll end up in a deluxe Belgian prison, helplessly watching yourself on CNN International

Did not mean to sound as if all Croats were neo-Ustasha.......Most Croats do not support the neo-Ustasha. But what I meant is that all Croats will suffer from the actions of the few NDH zealots in their midsts if Croats themselves do not root out this evil.

In addition, the government of Croatia has been 'weak' on the subject. They need to go after neo-Ustasha in the same way, Germans go after neo-Nazi's.

In the last 2-3 years I have watched State News perhaps 6 times, it is simply remarkable how clear one can see things once one is free from the incessant agit-prop of things like NPR, PBS, & CNN. Thanks to the internet, we don't have to waste our time being lied to.

I see. Do you think that the USA government should also go after the likes of KKK, Aryan Nations, White Supremacist groups as well? In what way can these groups be stopped by the government, including all the Neo-nazi's and Skinheads in Europe and elsewhere?
