Why is diversity so great? Seriously, I don't understand what if any reasoning lies behind the belief that diversity is some great goal that communities must achieve. Homogeneous versus heterogenous. Why the emphasis on the latter?
The mayor mentions gay pride parades and immigrant populations as some wonderful proof of diversity. What if there were no gay pride parades or immigrants in SLC?
Would that be a reason for shame? If so, why?

I don't think it would be a great reason for shame, but then I am a white bread Utah person. But diversity is the call of the liberal. Nothing is good unless it is "diverse." And that diversity must include homosexuality and all sorts of other perverse things. Just another example of the intolerant political correctness that is being shoved down our throats at every turn.
