Psalm 22 is a great example of trying to find something that isn't there. Let me offer a Christian translation first:
[12] Many bulls encompass me,
strong bulls of Bashan surround me;
[13] they open wide their mouths at me,
like a ravening and roaring lion.
[16] Yea, dogs are round about me;
a company of evildoers encircle me;
they have pierced my hands and feet --
[20] Deliver my soul from the sword,
my life from the power of the dog!
[21] Save me from the mouth of the lion,
my afflicted soul from the horns of the wild oxen!
The key here is the translation of verse 16. Christians maintain that the Hebrew word ka-'ari should be translated as 'pierced'. They do so on the claim that the root is krh, "to dig". The problem with this is that it does not account for the 'aleph. Karah consists only of the Hebrew letters kaph, resh, and he, whereas the word in the Hebrew text, ka-'ari, consists of kaph, 'aleph, resh, and yod. Further, the verb krh, "to dig," does not have the meaning "to pierce." Karah generally refers to the digging of the soil, and is never applied in the Scriptures to the piercing of the flesh. A better word would have been nakar, used in 2 Kings 18:21 ("Behold, you are relying now on Egypt, that broken reed of a staff, which will pierce the hand of any man who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.")
The correct translation of verse 16 is:
[16] For dogs have surrounded me;
a company of evildoers have encircled me;
like a lion they are at my hands and my feet.
Which, as you can see, perfectly matches the imagery of the preceding and following verses.
This is one of many such psalms which David wrote about being beset and suffering at the hands of enemies. It is not prophecy, and it is not a messianic passage.
And yes, of course they were other true prophets. They were precursors of The Prophet, as godly kings/anointed ones were precursors of The King/Anointed One (Messiah).

Judaism twaches that people not born Jewish will be saved in the next life so long as they are not pagan idol worshippers and they follow the 7 comandments obligatory on all humanity (not to murder, steal, commit adultery, torture animals, etc.-- basic stuff). Thus, in Jewish thought, Christians and Moslems who live a good life will share in the world to come. The additional commandments given to Jews are an added burden, designed to make the Jews an example to the world, and are not obligatory on non-Jews. Judaism's aversion to prosletyzing in no way reflects an attitude that gentiles should "go to hell."
These concepts are not in my bible. Nor do I see any reason to accept the Christian scriptures as canonical.

Clearly, you are referring to Matthew 23:30. I am sure you are aware that there is a great deal of debate even among Christians with respect to this point - hence the preterist versus the pre-tribs, etc. I hold to the belief that it is a dual prophecy - the first being the destruction of the temple in 70AD (minor) and the second to his return (major). The word "generation" is used to describe those alive at the time with respect to the first prophecy but it also can be used to describe a people. In the latter case, I believe what Jesus is saying is that the Jews will not disappear from the earth before his return.
If we dig a little deeper into the passage that you quote (Matthew 23:30) we see that just prior to the "this generation" statement, versus 26 and 27 Jesus says
"At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.
This portion is clearly not related to the destruction of the temple in 70AD. To sum this up, I believe that the prophecy is a dual prophecy describing the destruction of the temple in 70AD (a relatively minor event) as well as describing Jesus' return (the most important event).
It wasn't until 2 Peter that we see them beginning to try to come up with reasons for the delay of Jesus's expcted return.
Obviously, you are referring to 2 Peter 3:8. This response I found on the Net to preterist concerning 2 Peter is helpful.
It has been suggested (by preterists) that it is inconsistent or rather gratuitous to appeal to 2Pet.3:8 to explain the "delay" in Christ's return. "With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day." But it must be noted that this is Peter's own explanation. The preterist argues that since Christ spoke of the "nearness" of His coming it must be that He has already come. The scoffers whom Peter addressed argued that the same evidence indicated that He will not come at all. And it is Peter's answer that leads us to think in terms of God's view of time. "For God, it's not been long at all!" This is an entirely legitimate argument. It has inspired apostolic endorsement.
Both are great guys. Each has a great loving family. Each coaches little league. Each pays his taxes. They are religious. They are model citizens. They are friends.
Ask each of the other and they will tell you the same thing. He is a great guy and a great American citizen. They both respect what the other does and neither thinks the other is a better person.

Judaism has many rules. The rules are for Jews only. In the same way that a soldier has to follow special rules that a civilian does not. It doesn't make the soldier a better citizen.
For whatever reasons, it is Gentiles who ascribe to us their notion of "Chosen" as superior. That is not Jewish belief.
It is Jewish belief that we are special, a "Holy Nation".
One might say that a person is the service considers that they are special.
Anyone can join the Service
Anyone can convert to Judaism.
We don't proselytize because we see nothing wrong with anyone who is not Jewish. We don't condemn you to Hell.
If you want to join the "Holy Nation", that is up to you, on your own volition to decide. We take all, not just "the few and the proud".
Winston uses a lot of straw man arguments to make his points. I would say, "Alright, then. The Old Testament (which all Christians believe) says that the only way to approach God is with a blood sacrifice. Where is your sacrifice?" Without it, their own scriptures tell them they have no right to approach God.
Just one further thought: As Christians, we have been grafted into the root of the tree of Abraham (Rom 11:17), and although we remain "wild shoots" not inclined to follow all the traditions and teachings held by Jews, they are nonetheless our brothers and sisters and should be treated with all respect. Paul in fact gives a warning to that effect in Rom 11:21 when he said, "For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either."
Almighty God is able to save whomever He will without our interference or "help". No crusade is needed. No sharp words need be exchanged over points of theology. Love, respect and charity are far more powerful than any sword.
But a Jew can not convert to Christianity because Christianity is a Jewish sect. A Jew can decide to accept Yeshua as Messiah, but the Jew remains a Jew. All of the first Christians were not only Jews, but Torah Observant Jews. Shaul (known as Paul to the goyim) was a Pharisee.
G-d intended to bring worship of Himself and to bring His Messiah to the nations through the Jewish people. Christianity is not proof of the failure of Judaism, but of its success in this mission.
The fact split of the Church from the Synagogue was not G-d's plan. It was not G-d's plan that the Church forbid any Christian from practicing of Jewish customs. It was not G-d's plan to add a curse to the Amidah that would curse Christians. That's what men did.
Jews do not become non-Jews when they accept Yeshua as Meshiach.
So, no, G-d was not wrong.

| . Sacrifice and Atonement in the Tanakh We are in agreement that there were a variety of different sacrifices that were made for different purposes. The question then is whether or not blood is required for atonement.
If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock...and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.(Leviticus 1:2,4) This does not refer to a required sacrifice; the phrase begins conditionally: "IF...you bring an offering..." So here we see that contrary to your conclusion, the blood is not required for atonement. Rather, the blood sacrifice was acceptable for atonement, which is quite a different thing. Leviticus Chapters 4 and 5 discuss sin offerings. You will note that it is repeated that this sort of sacrifice was for unintentional sins, that is, sins done through ignorance of the Law. As you yourself point out, 5:11states that an offering of flour may be offered if the person is not able to provide the appropriate animal offering. So, while blood sacrifice may be normative for this sort of offering, it is not absolutely required. Chapter 6:1-7 deals with intentional sin. The sinner is expected to make restitution and then an animal offering. Chapter 16 discusses Yom Kippur. It is true that these passages do not mention alternative means of atonement. However, such means are discussed elsewhere in scripture. More on that later. Not every intentional sin, though, could be atoned for by sacrifice. Some were to be punished, without sacrifice, sometimes even by death:
Moreover you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death; but he shall be put to death. (Numbers 35:31) Before I discuss alternative means of atonement, I would like to address the passage that confuses Christians, Leviticus 17:11. This is the verse that people ordinarily cite for the notion that blood is required:
For the soul of the flesh is in the blood and I have assigned it for you upon the altar to provide atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that atones for the soul. But the passage that this verse comes from is not about atonement; it is about dietary laws, and the passage says only that blood is used to obtain atonement; not that blood is the only means for obtaining atonement. Leviticus 17:10-12 could be paraphrased as "Don't eat blood, because blood is used in atonement rituals; therefore, don't eat blood." When the laws of sacrifice were laid down in the Torah, the pre-existence of a system of sacrificial offering was understood, and sacrificial terminology was used without any explanation. The Torah, rather than creating the institution of sacrifice, carefully circumscribes and limits the practice, permitting it only in certain places, at certain times, in certain manners, by certain people, and for certain purposes.
Take heed that you do not offer your burnt offerings at every place that you see; Now, the last place that God authorized as the location for sacrifices was the Temple in Jerusalem.
The people were sacrificing at the high places, however, because no house had yet been built for the name of the LORD. (1 Kings 3:2) As you noted, God established Yom Kippur and the atonement of that day "for ever", as "an everlasting statute". Now, with the building of the Temple it became the only authorized place to offer sacrifice. And with the Law stating that atonement was to be made on Yom Kippur "for ever", what was to be done when the Temple was destroyed? As scripture demonstrates, God offers alternative means. And you shall take the atonement money from the people of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tent of meeting; that it may bring the people of Israel to remembrance before the LORD, so as to make atonement for yourselves. (Exodus 30:16) Prayer can make atonement

And we have brought the LORD's offering, what each man found, articles of gold, armlets and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and beads, to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD. (Numbers 31:50) Turning from evil can make atonement
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I intend to do to them, so that every one may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. (Jeremiah 36:3) Obedience can make atonement
For I desire goodness, not sacrifice; As this last example shows, not only did God say that the other methods were acceptable, but that the blood sacrifices were not necessary. Man's sincere repentance did not require that he sacrifice when not able to do so.
If you offer Me burnt offerings--or your meal offerings-- The 'offering of our lips', prayer, is now the only sacrifice, and one of the primary means of atonement, that Jews now make to God. In addition to Hosea 14:3 and Numbers 14:19-20, we find:

Uh, nope, he didn't. There are only a handful of messianic prophecies in the Hebrew scriptures, and Jesus did not fulfill them. The 'hundreds' of 'prophecies' to which you refer are the result of Christians reading Jesus into the Tanakh, ripping passages completely out of context. Most of these so-called prophecies aren't even prophecies, let alone having anything to do with the messiah.

looking at the Greek it seems to me that he was very possibly speaking of events that could be far down the road. I believe that we should use the Hebrew and Greek in our studies but lets do it consistantly.....If your going to look at the Hebrew for the OT....you need to also look at the Greek as well for the NT
